Am I right in thinking he looks like you but has some of Ben's features, eyebrows, and nose?

Beverly

Ellie and Everleigh

A couple of years ago I posted pictures of Chape's grand-nieces. This is a picture of them on this Easter Sunday.

Beverly

Aviv must enjoy having his uncle around! Who won?  :)

Thanks, Beverly, they're darling! You can certainly see their different personalities!

so_P_bubble

Beverly, They both won in turn, playing more to try to outwit the other!

Patricia, wrong! Both my children are adopted ( and not biological siblings).

patricia19

Bubble, that what I get for playing guessing games! XX

Oh well, they're both good looking kids!

Sandy

Beverly,
Ellie and Everleigh look to be identical,  are they?

first tie for the Seder meal.

Such fun to come see some new photos..... and whether adopted or not, kids pick up many traits that make them sound like or look like parents!  My oldest son used to tease his younger brother all the time that he was adopted because the older 2 had dark hair & eyes & youngest is blond with hazel/often green eyes. Youngest came back with, "when will my RICH parents find me?"  Funny part is all 3 like to pick out the best genes on all sides & think they got those genes!  We have quite a few adopted in this large family & to be honest, some adopted kids look more like their parents than the birth kids.

Be honest, Bubble, don't you see a lot of you in both son & grand?  You did your share of seeing the world and being up for anything, and I do think Illy got that from you as well. Was Ben as reserved as he appeared, although we didn't get to know him well. Aviv is growing up so fast, and I'll back Patricia's thinking that they all picked up YOUR traits along the way. I have one cousin that her adopted daughter's voice sounded just like she did. More ways than blood that show up in our kids. Thanks for sharing their pics, I would give them a squeeze/hug & make them squirm if ever we met!

My brother has a great grand named Everleigh, claims she is named after great grandmother, Beverly.  She is cute as your girls, Beverly. I am fascinated by twins, these girls seem to be quite a bit alike personalities, are they?  My twin aunts were "mirror twins" (one left & other right handed), but their personalities were almost opposite as well. In all their photos one twin looks directly at the camera & the other is day-dreaming off in space, and that's how they were in life. One "flighty" & the other much more serious. Your girls are darling & I'm happy to get to watch them grow up.

Beverly

Sandy- I don't think they are identical but they do look a lot alike! In many pictures one of them looks a lot like their great-grandmother (Chape's youngest sister).

My twin great-grands are doing so well in spite of their rough start. Beverly does an army crawl (I get the videos) and James is trying so hard to crawl. He's doing the conventional "hands and knees" crawl. They are only about 15 lbs. each at 8 months old.

Bubble - I'm guessing ties aren't his usual choice, but for your Seder meal he managed it. Such a good looking boy!

When my oldest great-grandson was about five, he kept asking for a necktie. In his Easter basket there was a green necktie and he happily exclaimed "I've wanted a tie my WHOLE life"!  :)

Shirley - My brother also has a great-grand named Everleigh. It seems to be popular now.

Shirley

Beverly, my sister only weighed 23 or 26 pounds when she started school! My daughter was 10 lb 2 oz at 6 months & already walking around the furniture but oldest son started at 5 lb 14 oz & did the "belly-flop" crawl. He didn't try to walk, didn't jump at noises or any of the things she did so we were afraid he had serious problems (they had to up his oxygen at birth because his lungs didn't inflate, cord was around his neck). Turned out he was just a chunky little boy & at peace with the world. He has impressed everyone that ever worked with him how brilliant he is & has done things in research & development nobody believed possible. As the saying goes, "There for the Grace of God". We get no guarantees with our kids and can only hope & pray they have happy lives. When my kids were growing up I often said that "I hoped people would tell me my kids had good hearts, kind & caring.... more than smart or beautiful". The extended families we meet in here are more familiar than my nieces or nephews kids. I haven't met most of them & don't see photos of them except for a funeral/death in the family. Prayers for all the children in here, and the family members that share them with us.

Beverly

This little guy gets overshadowed by his twin cousins. He's just a month older than the twins.

Keani on Easter

Beverly

Shirley - One thing I've learned is all children develop at their own pace and we should never compare them!

Shirley

Isn't that the truth!!! That one will never tolerate being in the background! He just brings out the giggles when looking at that smile. How far away does he live from you? Cas was going through health issues whem our grands were young so I didn't get to see them much. Now with Covid for 2 years, the great grands have been growing up behind my back! Do the parents often get asked "where they got his name?" My parents had unusual names so me & my 4 siblings got the most common "name of the year". Hope we get to see more of Keani.

patricia19

Shirley, my search engine said it is a gender neutral name of Hawaiian origin.

Beverly

Patricia - Yes, it's a Hawaiian name, pronounced Kee-ah-nee. My granddaughter just liked the name!

patricia19

It's interesting, Bev, and he'll always have a story to tell. From what I read, the name is of the breeze or the wave, and another is of the meaning to persuade.

Another variant is Keanu such as the actor Keanu Reeves.

MaryPage

Beverly, worry not!  My daughter Debi weighed 15 pounds at age One Year.  My doctor insisted that although she came in below the charts, she was perfectly healthy.  She retired from teaching recently.

If you can stand another great-grand photo, this is my 6 year old great-grandson, Wesley. My daughter took it last fall.

Wesley and his "Bestie".

Beverly

CallieOK

Beverly,  Love the redheads - and  :) that the "bestie" already has that "model" pose down pat (one knee bent, head tipped and a big smile). :smitten:

Miss Ellen, who was born with a head full of bright red hair, was 9 weeks premature and weighed 3 1/2 pounds.  The only issue she had growing up was that she had to wait a year to go "on pointe" when she was taking ballet because her feet hadn't developed enough to hold her up in toe shoes.

I'm hoping to see some more pictures. I can see that not many people post here anymore. Sure do miss Jack!

MaryPage - Debi must have been a tiny one!

Callie - Did Ellen want to be a dancer from the start? Wesley was quite bald and nearly a year old before we were sure his hair was red! I think this little girl felt a "kinship" to him because they were the only two redheads in Kindergarten! She does have that model pose perfected!  :)

patricia19

I noticed that model pose as well, handsome kids! Wesley has a very "I'm being accommodating expression."

My ancestry is mainly Irish and Scots with a bit of Welsh thrown in and 2% traveling Swede. The point is that for generations, on both sides, it has been mainly Celtic redheads of some shade or hue.

Did you know that only 2% are natural redheads? It's the rarest genetic color, yet second only to blonde in colorings...

CallieOK

I've heard that percentage about redheads. Ellen and her brother are 2 of the 2%. Their sister is a brunette.

Beverly, Ellen says she has wanted to be a dancer ever since I took her to see "The Nutcracker" when she wasn't quite 3 years old. She switched to musical theater when it was obvious she wasn't built to be a ballerina.
