Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

You are right, Patricia, his son has the Leonberger dogs and the tiniest dachshund I ever saw. Not sure that little one was grown up or just a baby, but I swear it was no bigger that the big dogs paw. You will love the photo of the cat when I get an e-mail off to him for permission to post it.

My daughter had a fit over it. I keep telling her she can't have a pet until she is through traveling to see her grandkids so much, not fair to leave them in a kennel. Her husband is still working, he doesn't have hobbies, company pays well for his experience so they are satisfied. They have both traveled the world & no desire to go anywhere.

I'm watching the sky as a smaller bird (size of a crow) chases some kind of hawk or vulture, don't think the eagle.... reminds me of WWII movies of the little fighter planes chasing the bombers. They are darting around, probably it got a baby out of their nest. We do have a lot of different types of hawks but I got photos of a band of turkey vultures flying over my own yard one time, they must have been migrating because not a common sight. I see quite a few in the lake area of MO, about the ugliest bird I've ever seen.

Amy, do you have the Eastern bluebirds or Mountain bluebirds in your area?  I've never seen any except Bluejays around here.  My brother & wife had bluebirds in their yard in MO & I managed to get a good photo of the male bringing a worm to the babies when I stopped by, enlarged it & gave to her, her "prize" brag at her class reunion (another state).

Jack was the one that encouraged some of us to get the Panasonic Lumix cameras. Don't remember how many years ago we got the one that satisfied me for the rest of my days. It is the 64x zoom. When I go to CO I take a couple of the older ones since my sons just use their phones & not as much zoom on them. They hike all over so I ask them "just one time" to take a camera each to bring pictures back for me. They are good to their old mother. <grin>.

Amy

Shirley, these are the Eastern Bluebirds and I do think they are going to occupy a birdhouse! I have to admit I am surprised the swallow's didn't get them first.

I envy those of you with birds to view! Now that I can no longer go to the bird sanctuary until I can go with friends. AND with the nearby trees gone, all I see here are ravens in the winter and pigeons in the summer, with an occasional owl or hawk swinging by.

I remember how excited I was a few years ago when the golden eagle cruised by and surveyed the neighborhood for a couple of days.

My little ray of sunshine

Beverly

Shirley - I love that print! What type of paper is used? Could you send me a copy via e-mail? I used to enjoy all the camera talk. The last camera I bought (and still have) is a Canon SX30IS. Mostly I use my I-Phone.

Patricia, we have rain here to but no beautiful sunset like you!! Should be a full moon tonight too!

Good suggestion, Patricia! Beautiful sky. Our photos get closer to home all the time, don't they?

I haven't heard from Jack since he sent that so don't know any more about it. I will copy it from Jack's message, it may be easier to print. I didn't get a chance to ask him more about "how to" but probably you would understand the PhotoFunia directions better than I do. I remind everyone that "I'm from Missouri, the Show Me State" and my brain took that serious so have to have someone show me how to do anything, the written word zooms right past understanding.  :-[    Do I have your present e-mail?  Mine is still the same. I'll go right now & see if I can forward his to you. I had hoped he would check in, he can read the text in here but can't see photos. Darling big blue eyes, she is growing up so fast.

"Jack's GrandCat, Kimber, the Maine Coon"

Kimber, the Maine Coon.jpg

Amy

Kimber is so cute!! Look at the wee tuffs on her ears. Is she thinking........are you done yet?

Thank you Bubble for sharing..

Maine Coons are beautiful large cats and Kinder is no exception! Jack is lucky to have Kimber as a grand cat!

Shirley

Is that not the cutest face you ever saw?  Thanks, Bubble, hope Jack pops in to see all the comments. I had never heard of a Maine Coon cat until Jack talked about his son's many years ago. Far as I know this is a young one.

Shirley

Interesting, Patricia, I watched the whole video & guess the reason we don't see them in central US is they have that extra fur for colder weather. Tom weighed 18 pounds at his prime but I didn't catch how much the average Maine Coon weighed.

Beverly, my brother gave me a print of a drawing of a special place where we grew up & I copied that print onto an antique color onion skin paper & thought the effect turned out great. My printer at the time was not the real "photo" type but since I was working with black & white it was fun to see how it turned out. Does little Bev look like you at that age? Love the pensive look.

Cottoncandy

What a pretty Maine cat...and big...I've not heard of them...I like cats...and dogs...but right now have neither...I should reconsider...would be so much company..my hubby went to Heaven 10 years ago.....we are having 100 degree temp here...so AC unit going 24/7......

Beverly

Kimber is beautiful. He's still a young cat in the photo. Would love to see another photo when he's full size!

Great-Grandson Keani
(cousin of the twins)
Turned 10 months old today

His Uncle Tristan bought that Jeep walker for him!

patricia19

Bev, another serious young man. Perhaps he feels he's been interrupted in serious contemplation? Except for the cheekbones, he has your look!

Ragdolls are another large cat, similar in some ways to Maine Coons.

Marilyne

Beverly - Keani, is adorable!  Love that golden hair!

Beverly

I copied this from my hometown's Facebook page. I grew up in a small town of about 2000 people. This Memorial Day, in their  honor, the hometown veterans who were killed in action during the wars have these flags posted all over town. I recognize nearly all the last names. The flag shown here is one of my brother's best friends, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967. My brother still lives there.

Bev, ours were a four-color banner and were gradually expanding over the last three or four years. For some reason they were taken down. Don't know why. I noticed they were gone a few weeks ago. Sad about that, but happy to hear that other areas are putting them up.

Shirley

Beverly, I've never seen that done (hanging photos) & think it's a wonderful idea. I'm a lifelong flag waver & get teary eyed at parades or marching military bands. Little Keani is darling, with that "hang dog" look (my youngest son had that expression) everyone will love him.

A memory for MaryPage! At the Williamsport, PA Bash with one of our first SeniorNetters, Rae Inskeep.

patricia19

How lovely to see Rae again and MaryPage! I remember hearing all about the Lake Louise trip, and someone, I don't recall the name, had a mountie doll. Adrienne sent copies of all who requested photo CDs of the events.
