"Heal The World"

by: Michael Jackson

Think about—um—the generations and they say we wanna make it a better place for our children, and our children's children, so that they they they know it's a better world for them, and think if they can make it a better place

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow

And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel there's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares for joyful giving

If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living

Then it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
Make a better world
To make a better world

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace

Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this Earth, crucify its soul?
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be God's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you
are all my brothers

Create a world with no fear
Together we'll cry happy tears
See the nations turn
 their swords into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

You and for me
Make a better place (You and for me)
Make a better place (You and for me)
Make a better place (You and for me)
(You and for me)

Heal the world we live in (You and for me)
Save it for our children (You and for me)
Heal the world we live in (You and for me)
Save it for our children (You and for me)
Heal the world we live in (You and for me)
Save it for our children (You and for me)
Heal the world we live in (You and for me)

Save it for our children

A married couple was in a terrible accident where the man's face was severely burned.

The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from his body because he was too skinny.

So the wife offered to donate some of her own skin.
However, the only skin on her body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from her buttocks.

The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and they requested that the doctor also honor their secret

After all, this was a very delicate matter.

After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the man's new face
He looked more handsome than he ever had before! All his friends and relatives just went on and on about his baby face!

One day, he was alone with his wife, and he was overcome with emotion at her sacrifice.
He said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me
How can I possibly repay you?"

My darling," she replied, "I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek."

This is what all of you 70+ year old's have to look forward to:

This is something that happened in an Aged Care Centre

The people who lived there have small apartments but they all eat at a central Cafeteria.

One morning, one of the residents didn't show up for breakfast so my friend went upstairs and knocked on his door to see if everything was OK

She could hear him through the door

He said that he was running late, and would be down shortly, so she went back to the Dining area.

An hour later, he still hadn't arrived; so she went back up towards his room and she found him on the stairs

He was coming down the stairs but was having a hell of time

He had a death grip on the hand rail and seemed to have trouble getting his legs to work right.

She told him she was going to call an ambulance but he told her no, he wasn't in any pain, and just wanted to have his breakfast

So she helped him the rest of the way down the stairs and he had his breakfast.
When he tried to return to his room he was completely unable to get up even the first step so they called an ambulance for him.

A couple hours later she called the hospital to see how he was doing

The receptionist there said he was fine, he just had both of his legs in one leg of his boxer shorts.

Good morning...

I have one less job to do this morning!!  We had a lovely , much needed rain during the night!

Doing Callie's DD today.. then picking up the cooler from the neighbour. We planted some rhubarb in her garden yesterday and that rain will help it!

Rick, I love older homes. When we bought this place each year we would upgrade the rooms plus we built an addition on it. Dry wall and lots of insulation  were put in the walls.Keeps us warm in the winter and somewhat cooler in the summer.

Bubble, thank you for the new start, you always come up wih the nicest posts. Now thank you for the heads up, think when we go to the nursing home it will be commando ,then no problem walking.. :2funny:

Jane, hope your computer is soon fixed!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone!
Loved the joke Bubble 😁 Shared it with my husband. His 50th class reunion is this month.

It' 59°F, headed to 90°F. Ron tells me that is the hottest day predicted for here, for the next month. Sounds good. More weed whacking today, and laundry. I might do some sewing. I need another sleeveless top. And there's watering, always watering.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

CallieOK

Happy July Oneth!

I've read the posts every day but there's no subject I can relate to.  :(

Bubble's story about the man in the nursing home reminded me of a tour I took of Greece.  It was headed by a college professor and there were mostly students on it. He had filled in the group with non-students and two friends and I were some of them.
One morning, we went into breakfast and sat down by a "frat guy" who  looked sleepy.  We wished him a Good Morning and he replied in a puzzled tone, "I think I put my boxer shorts on backwards." He pulled out his waistband and said, "Yep. Gotta do something about that" and left.

We wondered what the students had done the night before! ;D

Good morning EVERYFRIEND💐

I just finished reading all of the month of June's posts.  You all have so many interesting things to share and it is delightful to read your posts.

We are finally settling back in after months of being on the go.  Our time last winter spent in Prescott AZ was very enjoyable.  Having a lot of special time with our son and family was wonderful and oh my, how I miss those two little grandsons.

We were home for almost a month before it was time to head to Boston to attend our second oldest grandsons graduation from high school. It was a delightful time and we sure enjoyed all the festivities and family time there.

Out the back door of the son's home they had a bird feeder and I could have sat there all day watching the MANY different bird that were feeding.  Beautiful Cardinals and Bluejays....and so many other unknown colorful birds.

After our nice Bostonvisit we flew to Arizona to stay with our youngest son and his wife's special Oliver Doodle.  They came to Colorado to her family's side reunion.  While in Phoenix we drove up to Prescott to see the family and my sweet little loving grands. While there I had an eye appointment that was a follow up to my cataract surgery I had in February.  It was a day trip as we had the doodle with us and one of the grands is allergic to the doggie dander or what ever, even tho the doodle thought to be allergenic free.  It was a short visit but a very successful one.

June flew by so quickly it seems.

Yesterday I had a wonderful thing happen.  I met a lady and we started chatting.  In no time at all we figured out our path had crossed many years before. I babysat her and her older brother when she was born.  It seems it is a small world and if you spend any time at all chatting to a stranger you will soon find that there is a connection of some kind.  It made my day and we are hoping to keep in contact and reminisce more.

Thank you, BUBBLE for our new place to chat and enjoy each other. I want you to know that I pray for you and your family as well as your country during these hour times of conflict.  🙏🙏

I have been much too long winded today, but it has been awhile since I have been here and I had a LOT to say.

Enjoy your day and be safe and keep as cool as you can.

Good morning, 69 presently, heading up to mid-eighties for a high. Tomorrow, the heat returns, and we'll possibly make it into the nineties. Meets and greets, morning chores and routines finished, and I've got coffee at hand.

I've also got someone outside my door, drilling holes in the wall, exposing the pipes, preparatory to their doing my section of the vertical pipe dismantlement. Basically drilling outside my door and hammering from the apartment to the above left. The manager told me when they get to my apartment, it should be only a few hours, so, I'll leave Farrah locked in the bedroom.

Bubble, as always, you've made our day with July's segue. I'm going to be 74 at the end of the month, so I can appreciate the jokes although, Callie, I've never gone backwards. ::)

OLM, this year was my 56th class reunion. I didn't go, actually, have only been to two.

Jenny, it's nice to see you checking back in and still keeping busy.

Phyllis, my favorite was the a--kissing. :) My first mother-in-law, who had two sons she doted on and a daughter she treated like Cinderella's stepmother.

Amy, happy Canada Day to you!

OnLonelyMountain

Good afternoon all!
Callie, If you don't see anything you can relate to, tell us something about you and if we can we'll relate to you. If I can't add anything, I'll certainly enjoy your stories.😀

Patricia, I went to one of mine. Since I moved around so much as a kid, there just wasn't the bond. Ron went from grade school thru High school with the same kids. There's a few he goes to reconnect with.

Phyllis, agree! Hope your day is filled with laughter.😃

Amy, how do you celebrate Canada Day? As a teenager I sailed the Inland Passage (east side of Vancouver island) a lot. We celebrated everyday we were in Canada by saying "eh" a lot and eating Aero chocolate mint candy bars. Loved those things! 😁

CallieOK

Okay, OLM, here I go!!!

I can appreciate the jokes although, Callie, I've never gone backwards.

Patricia, what do you mean?

Y'all have probably seen the news stories about the terrible floods/storms in the Northeast, including New York.
Miss Ellen (my granddaughter), who lives in New York City, flew home from La Guardia today.  Her flight left right on time, stopover in St. Louis, and actually landed early!  We'll have "one on one" time on Thursday.

I've been following the OKC Professional Basketball team, which just won the NBA Championship a week ago; people are still celebrating!

I'm also reading e-books and magazines that I can borrow from the OKC library. Check-outs are for 2 weeks and the neat thing is they just disappear if you don't return them nor recheck them; so - no overdue books!!!

Sleep well, Everyfriend and have pleasant dreams.

It was from the part of your earlier post about the confused student,

"One morning, we went into breakfast and sat down by a "frat guy" who looked sleepy.  We wished him a Good Morning and he replied in a puzzled tone, "I think I put my boxer shorts on backwards." He pulled out his waistband and said, "Yep. Gotta do something about that" and left."

Good morning

Starting at 58° but all too soon we will go past 80! Off to the city making a quick trip and home hopefully befire the heat gets unbearable.

Traffic was bumper to bumper last evening with folks headin back home, some will now stay up at their cottages now that  school is out.

Thank you Jenny and Patricia for the  Canada Day wishes

OLM, fireworks , family, friends and food  is how Canada is celebrated. We used to go and see the fireworks but we are now content to just stay at home.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning Callie, Amy and all!
I like it! Your pending visit with Miss Ellen sounds wonderful! I had heard about the flooding. I'm glad she didn't have any travel problems. I don't follow sports, so I'm unfamiliar with how they celebrate. Are you still celebrating, and how?

I wasn't aware that libraries had e-check out programs now. Cool! Not only no over due books, but no trip to return them! I still miss browsing libraries and bookstores though.

Amy, just like the 4th.😊 nice.

I spent 2 hrs before sun up replacing a broken vent cover on my RV roof this morning. I climbed that vertical ladder a dozen times. I was exhausted! Just getting the rest of my day started now. Maybe more later... internets been feeble.

Good morning, everyone! Amy, I believe we're having the same weather patterns. Presently 72 at nine am and sunny to partly cloudy, high 84 and tonight's low, 59.

Unfortunately, the entire Interior is under a red flag warning with possible evening thundershowers with winds capable of producing outflow winds of 30 to 50 mph. With climate change, any temperatures over 70 seem to cause thundershowers, lightening and fires.

OLM, I'm not a fireworks' person either and since our northern summers are almost 24/7 daylight, the fireworks here are mainly in the winter on New Years when the town and University put on competing shows.

OnLonelyMountain

Afternoon Patricia!
It actually makes more sense to do them in winter, but thats probably because, like you, I live with wildfire season.

Its currently 84°F with a nice breeze.

I'm currently hand stitching a sleeveless cotton blouse. And doing laundry.😁

Amy

Good morning

Starting off at 63° and heading into the low 70's, works for me. Possibility of a storm this morning, we shall see. They said we would get a storm last night and that didn't happen.

The trip to the city went well , again left $$$ at Costco and then picked up snow fence to use as barriers across the wood piles. We were glad to get home away from the hustel and bustle and heat!

Not sure what today will bring...and not worried about it either. :)
Patricia, they have been calling for t-storms here and we have yet to get them and that is ok. We do need the rain though to help the gardens. With that you also get the grass growing too!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning Amy and all😀
Its 54°F, clear skies and heading towards 77°F, allegedly. They forecasted a 20% chance of rain for my region last night, as well, but its a big region. We didn't get any here. We're now being tantalized with a possible, slight chance of rain for tomorrow.

Callie, looking forward to hearing about your fun visit with Miss Ellen.🙂

My day looks like more of the same: mowing, laundry, sewing. My body is complaining, loudly, about the ladder climbing and rusty hex head screw removal from yesterday. Parts are threatening to strike. :crazy2: Interesting to note: while I got swarmed with mosquitos while doing that chore I'm not aware of even one bite! Must be the mint.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

There are some Paintshop graphics posted there and also Cards for the holidays, now for the 4th of July.

Also I think we would all loved to see photos from your surroundings, from the improvements you add to the house.

Photos are exclusively posted in the Photos Old and New discussion. The size permitted is 800 pixels on the longest size and around 100KB.

If you have problems resizing or posting, I am always glad to post for members  :)

Good morning EVERYFRIEND💐

So much going on around here with the holiday tomorrow.  We will be doing pretty much what we do every 4th of July by watch the local family parade in Castle Pines, where our son and grands live. Son and granddaughter, possibly the grandson too will run in a 5K first...then after the parade there is a community BBQ.  Our oldest grandson is in Nantucket with one of his fraternity brothers, so he will be missed. In the afternoon we are invited to friends home to continue the celebration.  We no longer go out to see fireworks but can see several high displays from our back deck without having to get out in the mess of traffic and people.

Next weekend our dil and 2 youngest grandson's will be in Colorado visiting her parents so we will continue some celebration with them. Unfortunately our son cannot get away this time of the year as his golf course is busy as can be with tournaments etc.

CALLIE, enjoy your time with Ms. Ellen. Hoping all of your family will be able to get together while she is there.

MARILYN, enjoy your family get together as well as all the rest of you here in the
Soda Shoppe🇺🇸🇨🇦

AMY, those Costco excursions always cost $$$$.  We need to share more with our son as so much of the stuff proves to be way too much for us these days, not to mention the items I just have to have after I see them😻😻

I appreciated the kind words regarding my return after not posting for awhile.  Thank you.

Off to fold clothes as the dryer is playing a tune for me.  Enjoy your day.

Good morning, 72 and clear and back into the mid-eighties this afternoon, Amy, no rain scheduled until Monday, but while no T-storms, we've got regular afternoon purple clouds moving westward.

Meet and greets, morning routines, feeding everyone is finished, and I have coffee at hand. While I'm having lunch with Vivian and Ruthie, plus some afternoon shopping on schedule, I just realized what a madhouse those stores are going to be pre holiday.

Vivian did speak to Claire's son, and they did get her a dog, but things are still moving slowly.

Callie, my Kindle is so filled that I'm often unable to find enough time to simply sit and read. I have preorders already into 2027.

I hope Cathy is able to help Jane with her computer, I miss her posts and hearing about her walks with Cooper.

OLM, I hope you're taking today off with a good rest and a cup of tea. Those aches and pains often yell far too loudly, or so it seems to me.

Bubble, nice of you to let OLM knows about photos and graphics. I know I'd love to see some area photos. I often wonder if her mountains are like my forested area.

Jenny, how nice to see another long post from you again. It sounds like your fourth will be happily filled with family and friends.

CallieOK

Good afternoon  :)

Ellen is staying with her parents in another suburb of OKC. Her sister/brother-in-law and her brother/fiancée/son also live in the same suburb.
She came to my house for"one-on-one" time and lunch today.

They'll be at their lake place for the weekend but I'm not going. Too many people in too little space for me.

Pouring rain now. I wont have to water my "pot garden" (all plants in pots ;D ) until tomorrow or Saturday.

Hope Everyfriend is having an Enjoyable Day!

OnLonelyMountain

Good afternoon!

Thank you Bubble. I checked out the Card Shoppe. There are some very beautiful graphics! :D  I have tried to upload a pic for my avatar a half dozen times from various locations on the property. Apparently I can't get enough signal strength to get it done. I figured if I can't even get that, I won't be able to upload a regular pic either.  :-\  It will often take 15 minutes to register a like. Emails can take 2 days to go out. Its not uncommon for my posts to crash and I have had to retry 6 or so times. I've gotten to the place were I "select all" + "copy" before I post, so I don't lose everything. But thank you for offering. I'll keep trying. I'll try again with a reduced pixel image. If I have an app for that🤔

Patricia, I would love to share some. Something I keep trying to work on. I intended to take it easy today, honest! But it was a perfect day for mowing, then it was Dump & Fill day, and Rosie threw up all over the salon in the RV.😵💫 Happens with 14 year old dogs... Best laid plans of mice and little old ladies. I finally got a chance to sit down (in between doing the laundry from the eruption) after 1:00.

Callie, "... my pot garden." 😆🤣 I'm so glad she visited you. What was for lunch? Its nice that she could visit with so much family in that one location. /color]

patricia19

Good late afternoon, 5:08 and 84 presently. I had a nice day out, paid some bills and only purchased a new green Alaskan hooded sweatshirt, besides my lunch of grilled Alaskan salmon.

So, My plan of spending less is working. However, the clear skies are gone and the smoke returned. And so has the occasional thunder from a distance.

I talked to various people here and conferred with Claire and Vivian who live on higher floors in their buildings, only to discover an anomaly. Here's an example and I want to first say, yes, I know heat rises.

Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the weather bureau said it was 82. However, everyone agreed that it was higher. Some said ninety-one and higher up than the seventh floor in the different buildings, registered between 100 and 104.
