Good afternoon, nothing new here, I'm still embroiled in my external drives. All usual morning routines and feeding everyone and having coffee were accomplished. I live such an exciting life... these days it's more solitary pursuits than in a group.

MG, I noticed you had posted about two people who posted in other groups, so, I moved your post here from Norm's. I see Amy answered your question.

I'm having the same issue with my right leg from hip to knee. It's painfully reminding me that it doesn't like the fickle weather changes. Often, looking out the window is more accurate than any weather report.

Amy, I did enjoy the time-out and being with friends. We passed both food and gossip around. No AC here, just a slider and window that lets air in even closed.

I hope Phyllis, Sandy-Daf, OLM, and Rick are having a good day, It's time for me to get back to copying, reassembling and deleting my externals.

Good morning..

Starting off at 61° but heading to OH MY GOSH!! We are off to the city to get undercoating done on the van a bit of shopping (maybe) then home.

Patricia, have you tried Epsomgel? A friend gave me a tube of it and it does work!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone,
I had a couple of long work days with Ron here Saturday and most of Sunday. We keep deciding we want to do "one more thing" before he hangs the insulation. He decided to install the glass blocks I'd got to let in natural light in the hallway. He didn't like the mounting tracks I got and he fought with them for half the first day. The biggest issue was he wouldn't listen when I told him how they were supposed to be used. He had to do it his way, which took way longer. It does look nice. He did install the screen door. It has bars running vertically and is screened with expanded metal, rather than the typical clothe or aluminum screening. I wanted a screen door that would be more Kato resistant. When Kato's in the RV I don't leave the door open, he'll just bust through it if a critter shows up. One paw swipe on the clothe or aluminum screen and its shredded. He trimmed back the loft decking and remounted the pull down ladder. When he finished those things he vacuumed up the engineered wood sawdust. I resealed the fresh cuts and did lots of sweeping. I also wire brushed my woodstove and vacuumed it out. I picked up limbs and small slash piles and transferred them to the burn pile (For burning in winter). I didn't spend much time inside, other than eating and sleeping. My internet was even more spotty than usual.

Its 58°F, heading for mid 80°s. I heard a few heavy drops of rain in the night. Now that its light out I think I must have slept through the main shower.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with that kind of pain Patricia. I use homeopathics for my rheumatic gout/RA. 🙁 Does sitting at the computer make it worse? The consolidating of hard drives sounds daunting. I hope you don't have problems with data retrieval due to updated OSs. I personally think it should be mandatory that all new OSs and updates continue to support all previous versions. We have a serious of computers for that very reason. Ours go back to the 80s.

Good reading everyone's posts. I hope everyone is doing well. Anyone have an update on Barb? How are you doing Ciaobella? Thinking of you Phyllis!🙂

I think I have a bit of brain fog this morning. I can't remeber the specifics of what everyone said on the previous page.😞 I read it twice. Must be from the engineered wood dust. With the spotty internet I'm concerned I'll lose my post/connection if I switch back to look.  :-\

More later, when I can. Take care of yourselves today!

Good morning, mostly cloudy with a light rain at 71. We're to have light rain this entire week.

I finished my externals, all nine, last night, but I had a few issues with dry eyes and I kept losing sight of my cursor. I'd have to vigorously shake my hand, hoping I would see the movement. It was usually resting either at the upper left or lower left, screen, when I needed to move an item from one file or folder to another. I was just so weary after four days.

Amy, thanks, I had to look that up, a proudly Canadian product which is probably why we don't have it locally. It's 26.99 for a 90ml or 3 oz. tube at Amazon. In the US, it's sold online at health stores or on Amazon.

OLM, you have as usual, it seems, been very busy. I feel guilty, on my couch. What type of dog is Kato?

My main pain is in the early morning after sleep or after couch-surfing. It's generally from my right hip to my right knee, and the weather has a lot to do with it. It's tiresome, but then I see Aviva who has mediports for her pain and in a wheelchair, and feel ashamed to say anything.

My externals date from 1999 and my first computer to the present one, although, I'll soon need another external. The majority is graphics or classes. My old system was to re-style new information sections on the newer external, making it necessary to try and locate older information when needed. But now they're organized by types of information categories.

The main point is to only have an extrnal connected when uploading or downloading information. One friend was upset when her computer got hyjacked and the extrnal went down with the computer. She had left it always attached to her computer and insisted I had never told her not to. That and she never had an antivirus program because the computer came with one!

Amy

Good morning.

Oh boy, another fry day.  :(  Yesterday went well, got the van undercoated  ,.shopped then scooted home after having lunch. Drove in the driveway to find our neighbour loading up the bit of brush that I couldn't take in his truck to go to the dump! We really have good neighbours!

Work around home today, beans will likely have to be picked and zucchini is starting to come to that point where everyone gets one!

OLM, we put the screen part up instead of down, then dogs couldn't poke or go through it.

Patricia, I did not think that something like that would work or be so quick at doing so.

Better get the day on the roll.

Enjoy your day and stay safe

Good morning Patricia, Amy and everyone who checks in after me😀,

Patricia, You finished! You are a beast! (She said as she collected her socks that were knocked off.) you have no cause to feel guilty that was a grueling task! Besides, it gets hot, I melt down. I soend the afternoons on my dinette bench either reading of doing hand work. Here lately its trying to make phone calls and find help. I need a lawyer, and I don't know what kind takes my case. Last week I received notice that the timber company will be spraying a highly toxic mixture of pesticides on a large tract of land a half mile behind my property. My condition is so severe I can't tolerate application within a mile ground, 2 miles aerial. I sent them my letter of accommodation from my doctor and even a link to a biocide that is non-toxic that would not only take out the plants the silviculture forester feels are sucking up the resources from his trees, but return the moisture and nutrients to the soil. They are going ahead with their spray. It will maim, torture and there's a high probability it could kill me. I've made dozens of phone calls to various kinds of attorneys. They all specialize, and want simple, cookie cutter cases to maximize their profits. I don't fit their profile.  Just rejections so far. I'm stressed and running out of ideas. Physical work takes my mind off of my problems, so I work when I can. I calked part of the facia under the eave on the tiny house after moving slash. I read a mystery yesterday after I couldn't move forward on my legal issues. I was waiting for a return call. They emailed me a rejection at the end of the day. I will do more forest cleaning today then resume working on finding a lawyer.

I so understand about looking at other's issues and realizing that theirs are so much worse and they are holding up so much better than me.🥰🤗

Kato is an Anatolian Shepherd crossed with an Armenian Gampyr. He is 150 lbs of teeth, muscle and defensive aggression. He's also as agile as a cat. Its rather startling for his size. At the farm his play area has a 10' high fence, because he can leap more than 6-8'. In regards to Amy's strategy of turning the door over, good idea, for normal dogs. Kato is a "dog of war" and his breeds were created to take down all threats and obstacles. I thought I knew what I was getting into... I was woefully ignorant! The vertical bars run the full length of the door. The expanded metal screen too. More air flow++.

Amy, what a lovely neighbor!

I need to get the dogs out. They're letting me know it. Take care everybody!

MarsGal

OLM This all sounds as though you need an emergency injunction to delay or stop the spraying if they will be spraying soon.  Whose land is the being sprayed? Fed, State or Private? Here is some info about filing with the Feds. https://www.uscourts.gov/forms-rules/forms/complaint-and-request-injunction I expect the state will have something similar. Here is info on filing an injunction on your own. https://legalclarity.org/how-to-file-an-injunction-without-a-lawyer-a-step-by-step-guide/ I am not sure if the Institute for Justice (not for profit organization) can help, but they seem to have a knack for finding a suitable lawyer. https://ij.org/ They have done work in Oregon on behalf of small farm owners owning just a few milk cows. Good luck!

MG,
Thank you! Thank you for the great leads! Getting an injunction was what I was searching for a lawyer to help me with. I'm getting right on this,

Denver

A good Tuesday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND 💐

Once again, I am playing catch up with our group after having issues with our internet.  My email has been messed up....my cell phone keeps being selective about whom it is going to allow to ring through‼️ I get so frustrated and I soon find myself just trying to deal with all of it and nearly give up😩😤

In addition to this craziness I have been dealing with dizziness and extreme fatigue for quite sometime.  A visit to my internist this past week to see IF there is a reason for this, and so far the answer is that my thyroid is fine and I am not anemic‼️. He did say the new med he put me on for diabetes is known to cause dizziness.......but he asked me to continue taking it and see what the labs say.  I see him again in a week or so....

This past week we have been busy as can be going through the process of buying a home in Arizona. Thankfully our youngest son lives close to this home and has happily stepped up to be our representative.  We felt totally confident to go through with this purchase with him being our eyes.

As some of you might know I have been looking at properties for quite sometime.  We spent 6 months last winter in Prescott AZ near another son and his family.  We loved it there, however the altitude in Prescott is near the same as Denver.  I must admit that we both feel much better at a lower altitude. Hence purchasing a home in the Phoenix area.

Now comes the time that we have to start the big clean out of accumulated stuff after living in this home for 21 years😩🤪. We are not going to have to push ourselves to the extreme HOWEVER that being said, we are old and do not perform like we used to🤪🤪. Many might think we have totally lost it to be doing this but we found the home that we have continued to look for and when it presented we had to jump on it‼️‼️

When all is said and done we both are comfortable with our decision and know we will be happy in this new life adventure.  We are extremely sad to be leaving our son and family here as well as our home and friends, but one adventure can not start until the current one ends🥰

Today is our 58th Wedding Anniversary.  We are so blessed to have enjoyed this wonderful life together and we plan to have many more years to come, God willing 🙏

Have a good day and keep cool as you can....there horrendous temperatures across our nation are awful and concerning.

Jenny, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! Great to hear that you've found the home you've been looking for for so long. I've been having the same problem with my home phone as you are having with your cell.

The day before yesterday I got notice that Comcast/Xfinity is discontinuing their email server. We are all to be shifted over to Yahoo sometime in August. I like Yahoo for their financial news, but didn't care for their email, and I never cared for Outlook. I will take a look at it but my first thoughts are to find another mail client. There is one I used before I got Comcast that I liked, and it is still among the best of lists. There are two others I want to look at.

Amy

Good morning..

Starting off at 58° and I hope it does race too much higher!

Not sure what is on the agenda today, always work inside but we need to put the generator up on a wagon. This wagon needs wheels on it that doesn't go flat and we bought 4 yesterday.  Before that happens an oil change is in order....lots of fun jobs :)

OLM, take it to your senator, or your tv/radio station...

Jenny, hope you and Bob had a fantastic 58th Anniversary!

Patricia, ok, where are you?

Rick, I hope it is cooler there..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone,
Its 62°F here, heading for 90°. Mostly sunny.

Same schedual as yesterday, though thanks to MGs suggestions I happened upon a law firm that looks like a good fit. They didn't give me an immediate rejection. I sent in a brief summary that has been referred to their lawyers to see if any of them want to take it up. They have done exactly this kind of thing before, defending people from pesticide trespass by forestry spraying in the wilderness near Gold Beach. I'm hopeful.

Thank you for the suggestion Amy. Unfortunately I tried that back in the beginning of my travails. My state senator is the guy that colluded against me with all kinds of state and county officials (according to the new sheriff) and was a good friend of the guy that had me sprayed in 1996. He was a county commissioner at the time. The good old boy network is alive and well in Oregon. The politics, politicians and bureaucrats are corrupt. The corruptocrats get rid of the decent ones that try to help. Back then my Rep, Jenkins and his wife Alice were such good people. They were trying hard on my behalf. The bad ones forced them out. Alice called me personally to say they were leaving politics and were grieved they could not help me. My currant Rep just got indicted for insider trading. Thats the tip of the iceberg. We knew him before he was elected. We knew about a bunch of his illegal graft after he got into power. I hope they get him for the rest of it too. When I volunteered with a 501(c3) for people with Toxic Injuries, I petitioned governors for a proclamation recognizing our class of disabled. I learned first hand how deeply the pesticide companies were embedded in the bureaucracy! It was terrible! I have a small amount of first hand experience with the media. You have to watch your back there too.

Generator on a wagon, great idea! 👍

Patricia, I ordered magnesium oil from Amazon years ago. I'd forgotten all about it. It's way messier, but should work the same as the gel. I can't handle the "gel ingredients." It stains your clothes, furniture, etc until it absorbs, so you have to keep the part you applied it to away from everything for awhile. Kinda like doing your nails. If it works for you, its worth dealing with the inconvenience. I think it was around $10.00.

Well, I'd best get moving while its still cool. Have a great day everyone! Stay cool, stay safe!

patricia19

Good morning, another day, 3rd or 4th, of steady rain. I spent yesterday with meet and greets. It wasn't a good day as we learned we lost Claire on Monday night.

Then I learned that the drain dismantle people f-up and will be returning between 8 and 5, on the 4th, 5th, and 7th of August. Farrah will then be confined to the bedroom and I will need to be out during those times. I believe that this is similar to the last time when they accepted the lowest bid.

Amy

Patricia, I am sorry for the loss of your friend Claire. Just hold onto the good memories that you shared with her.

Thank you, she was, once, the peacemaker of the group and was a regular at the farmer's market, along with her husband, with flowers, eggs, produce, honey, etc.

Then came Covid, her husband's death and having to give up her home and animals in 2020-2021. It was too much at once.

Good morning
Starting off at 51° this morning. We are to have a cooler day but we shall see, weather guesser has been right for a long time.

Picking up a sheet of 3/4 plywood this morning to put a wider top on the wagon for the generator. This job will make it much easier than me pulling the 212 lb gen out to the hook up.

Rick, our  a/c got a bit of a break overnight but it will be nice to not have to use it. Hope it is a bit cooler there.

OLM, money talks and it is not what you know but who you know.

Time to move it.

Good morning everyone,
I'm sorry for your loss Patricia. :'(

Amy, the wagon is a great idea!

Its 64°F, partly cloudy with showers and a slight chance of T-storms this afternoon in my region. I did not hear back from any lawyers. I read up some pesticide bills that they'd tried to get through congress in the last 10 years. I found out that the "Right to Farm and Forest" bill had been substantially fortified against people complaining about pesticide trespass. It still says applicators can be sued for serious harm or death. It also says if I lose I'd have to pay for their legal fees. They'd bankrupt me (or my survivors). That ratchets up my anxiety.

Happy birthday! Patricia 🎉

Good morning everyone, those here and those yet to come. I slept in this morning after being on the phone and email most of the night.

Amy, thanks for the birthday wishes. I believe, a couple of us will be going out for a birthday breakfast on the third of next month's groceries and bill paying. My life will be hectic, being out for the third, forth, and fifth and then seventh of the month.

OLM, thanks for the birthday wishes. I was going to like your post for them, but then abstained due to your lawyer troubles.

We have similar issues here with commercial gold mines and oil drilling, not only chemical issues, pollution, and land destruction, but also traditional rights of Indian and Eskimo lands. Might makes right has never been more true today. It's another alliteration of robber barons.

Jane, so good to see you're back!!

Hello again!  I'm on my way to bed but I thought I'd stop by and wish you all a good night's sleep and a happy day tomorrow.  I'm still keeping my granddaughter's doggie while she works but she's off tomorrow so I don't have to be up in the wee hours of the morning to greet him!  We're both getting on in years but we still do our walks twice a  day.  And when he isn't here, I do my walks alone!

It's so nice to read all your entries!  You sure are a busy bunch! Now that I know where you are, I'll be back to see what you are all up to and to let you know I'm still around!  Good night, Everyfriend!
