Good morning, another busy day here, laundry and other chores to do today with the drain maintenance people back in my apartment on the 4th, 5th, and 7th. They're doing vertical floor sections, & hopefully this is the last of it for my area. Coffee just finished, everyone's been fed and meet and greets are ongoing.

Has everyone seen the photos of Bubble's second granddaughter? She's five months old today and has a beautiful smile! This is her son, Tany's first child.   https://www.seniorsandfriends.org/index.php?msg=265743

Good morning, Jane, Rick and everyone stopping by.

OLM, You and Ron have been busy! Your cake sounds good and would be great with a strong cup of coffee!

Amy, this one's for you,

Amy

Ok, can slow down a bit and have a cuppa tea.

Yesterday went well, other than the bumper to bumper traffic.  Saw one accident where the hood of a nice truck was wrinkled back. :( Dr. gave hubby a shot in his shoulder and froze 3  spots on his face. We dusted it home after that.
I thought I could do some work here but that went down the drain..so playing catch up today.

Patricia, LOL....cute ,wish I could drink coffee  but thankful tea is ok.....for now. Bet you will be happy when all that is done and you and Farrah can settle back into your routine.

OLM, thank you for asking, he is much better now and the shot the Dr gave him helped a lot! I used to dislike handling insulation  on jobs as you would itch for the rest of the day if you didn't wear long sleeves.!

Company just drove in...

Enjoy your day and stay safe

Good morning..

Starting off at49° and tickling the 80s today. Still no rain in sight and it is much needed. Today the highways will be packed with everyone heading home from the holiday.

Not sure what is happening today other than housework. Will soon start pickling and that job will be out of the way.

Eveyone has been fed including the crows. time to get busy.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning, Amy, and all.  Temperatures have been a little more tolerable the last couple days.  We are promised more rain, which we don't really need.  Wish I could share with you, Amy.  David is doing laundry and I am paying bills--all those fun things that have to be done.

Hope the world will be kind to all of you today.

Good morning everyone!

Phyllis, Its good to see your post.🙂

This is for all who slog through drudge work🏅, they are the true heros. Rarely does it get recognition, but without it being done, nothing else could ever get done.

Amy, glad he's doing better.🙂 Ron used to handle insulation like it was nothing. Time has taught him differently. He wore a Teletubby suit😆 He got almost as much done as he'd hoped. He ran out of staples for the plastic vapor barrier. The loft is open insulation. I won't be able to go in the tiny house this week. I itch and burn just looking in through the door.

I've begun pulling game/trespasser camera's and cards and replacing batteries. More forest cleaning ad laundry. Reviewing cam cards when I'm too tired to move. Its currently mostly sunny with 30% chance of showers. We started the day at 55°F. Heading for upper 70°s.

Loved the pic Patricia!

Have a great day everyone!

patricia19

We're back at heavy clouds and rain for the next few days, and presently 56.

Nice to see your post, Phyllis.

Nothing new here.

OnLonelyMountain

Good morning everyone,
I only got one pile picked up yesterday and my UTV said "charge me." So I plugged it in. I decided to get that sharpering done: chainsaw, machete. I discovered that Ron had borrowed my round chainsaw file and forgot to put it back. He seems to have taken it home with him. I sharpened the machete. Since it was overcast and occasionally sprinkling I decided to review cam cards. I only had 5 cards. It is one of the most boring and time consuming chores ever! One card alone had over 60,000 captures. Mostly snow falling and windy branches. Sheesh! It took me until 7:30 p.m.. I only stopped to feed and walk the dogs at their regular time. But those are done for now.
This morning when I opened the blinds there were elk in the solar yard, just across the drive. Pretty cool. Its 50°F this morning , mostly sunny and heading for 80°, allegedly.

Have a great day everyone!

MarsGal

Mighty quiet in here today. Not much happening here. I did manage Not to read yet today. Spent some time looking up "hot spots" on cats. Talked to the vet yesterday. There should be the cat version of Prednisone for me to pick up tomorrow, but I am hoping to try a spray on him. Just trying to find something that will work. I am not sure if it is allergy related or stress again. This didn't show up until he was off the Prednisone.

I've gotten several come-ons from FanDuel Casino in the mail lately. I don't gamble, don't visit the sites. However, they have been hitting hard on YouTube with their ads lately. How much you want to bet Google sold my address to them. So annoying.

Amy

Good morning

Another busy day ahead.....not sure how much will get scratched off the list but will try.Beans are becoming an every other pickings an then freezing them.

We need rain  and there is no sign of it in the next few days here.

Better get started or the day will whizzzzzz by on me.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning, a possible 80 today, but presently 53. Today will be a day of rest, but the plumbers return tomorrow for hopefully their last day and I get my sanity back finally.

RAMMEL

Are they the same plumbers as the last time?

Rammel, did you feel the earthquakes? Miss Ellen did!!  She lives in the area of the bridge to Ft. Lee.
Are you affected by the haze created by the Canadian wild fires?

Amy, how far are you from the fires?

Central Oklahoma has had lower-than-usual temperatures recently. That's about to change back to "feels like" more than 100º.:(

Callie, - Yes, I felt it. The 3.0 was followed a week later with a 2.7.  Neither one caused any destruction, but did get the attention of many.
When I go out front and look toward NYC I can see what looks like a very light haze. No doubt the smoke in the air. I see air quality warnings, but don't notice any smell or breathing problems.
Hope Miss Ellen survived our recent heat. The bad part about the City is that all day the big buildings soak up the heat, --- then give it off during the night. So there's no cool evenings following hot days.

I'm having a chuckle here (at me). This is probably the longest post I've made here in ages. I'm not a good writer.

Rick, this is hopefully the final stretch of a drain dismantle and replacement of a block long, five-story building that began on April third, and is slated to end on the 8th, two days from now. They are working in vertical shifts, fifth floor to first, beginning on the 100s and finishing with the 500s, apartment numbers. Each section has a period of water shut off days that are aggravating to say the least. They have one working bathroom on the first floor and five portapotties set out in the front yard. Laundry can only be done on the weekends, when everyone vies to get theirs done first.

MarsGal

We've had air quality alerts these past two days because of the smoke. It got up to around 80 today, stayed cloudy, and is still very humid. Oscar has decided he doesn't even want to tough his new cat food. Because it was on backorder, I bought another combo of the stuff he has been eating. He absolutely won't touch it, in fact, he wouldn't tough anything this morning. He downed some dental treats, and almost declined what I put out for him this evening. He starts back on his meds tomorrow morning.

Sue told me that the Roy Rogers franchise is trying to make a comeback but she didn't know where. I checked their site and noticed that all of the Roy Rogers Restaurants are, so far, on the PA Turnpike.

Sheetz has started construction on my old health club's site. Great! Just, Great! I will probably have to find another way when I go that way, which is often. The Sheets is sure to cause yet more congestion there what with people in and out of the place at a fairly busy corner. Lights or not, people still will be trying to get in and out of their parking/gas area. I foresee more accidents, at least for a while. And still I ask, if the US population has been decreasing, how come we need more and more apartments, houses, stores, etc. Lots of abandoned places around. People just pick up and go leaving a huge mess for someone else to clean up, which of course, they never or rarely do.

Good evening everyone,
I've had a couple of cool days and have been able to work a lot longer outside. I've done a lots more forest clean up in just 2 days than I was accomplishing in a week! Yay!

I have secured a lawyer if the Ag forensic scientist (drift expert) confirms the threat of pesticide drift is probable given the topography/winds. We are in the process of scheduling his visit.

Looks like some very interesting conversations. I'm so tired I can't think. I dragging myself off to bed.

Goodnight all!

RAMMEL

Good luck with the spray drifting problem.

Good to hear, OLM.

I tagged this YouTube offering a few days back. For about a week, I have been watching in the mornings the Perseids Meteor Shower. There are lots of them now, but I read that the peak of the shower is August 12-13. I usually watch on YouTube via my TV beginning around 8am on the East Coast. Although it is not quite dark yet in Hawaii, I have already spotted several this morning watching on the computer. Make sure you click the buttons for full screen and HD if on your computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g4Fh8K-MhY

Amy

Good morning.

We are heading back into fry weather..starting at 55° at the moment.

Have the beans already picked. Beets can stay there till other things get done.

Still no Janie.....will give her a call later this morning.

Callie, we are far away from the fires but there are days the smoke heads this way. My friend is right in the think of the fires and so far hasnt had to evacuate.

OLM, nice that you found someone that will help you.

Rick, back on goes the A/C . At least we are comfortable in our home.

Patricia, hope this is soon over with and life gets back to normal for you.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Looks that way, according to the weather guesser. I don't get much outside time anyway, but it's nice NOT having to run the A/C. Got an email this morning from the Electric and Gas Company, telling me that my bill is ready and offering me the option to pay now - on line. Think I'll wait for the Bill to show up.

Good morning everyone,
We had several hours of hard rain in the night. Its 60°F, heading for 69°F with a slight chance of rain and T-storms. By Monday we'll be back up to the upper 80°s. I'm thankful for the rain and cooler weather. Yesterday was Kato's birthday. He's now 6.

We are down to 5 large fires in the Pacific Northwest Region.

Thank you Rick, Mars, and Amy🙂

Rick, I think you write just fine. Glad you got a break from the heat, but also glad you have A/C. 🙂

I don't get much news with my weak internet so I appriciate you all sharing it. Was there any damage from that quake?

Mars, Thanks for the heads up on the Perseids. I'll have to try to find out what time they're overhead here and get out to watch them. 😃

Patricia, I remember a poster in the student's store back when I was in Jr high. It showed a rope with a knot in the end and a kitten clinging to it. It had the caption, " when you reach the end of you rope, tie a knot and hang on." While you're nowhere near the end of your rope, the upheaval to you and Farrah's lives must be so hugely aggravating. When I read about  it, I was reminded of that poster. Hang on, only 2 more days.

Mars, its the housing bubble. It will burst soon and prices will plummet. Plus, all the illegal aliens that are self deporting, and those deported will vacate plenty of dwellings. Landlords will be bummed because of the loss of gov subsidies (section 8 ). But young people, and those with lower income will be able to afford homes again, especially if they purchase "fixer upper's." There are plenty of youtubes to teach the skills.

patricia19

Good morning, It's 52 now, heading up to a possible 80 again today. Morning routine and coffee's finished, Farrah's fed and  meet and greets won't start until another hour or so, as I'm up early.

Amy, today is the last water shut off day, 8 to 5, so I try to get up early to arrange everything beforehand.  There are three vertical sections remaining as they move further toward the end of this wing, and the "end," of their project. And to add another twist, my kitchen light went out yesterday, and I'm waiting on maintenance to replace that. I do have my stove and or sink light, but it's simply one more insult to injury.

I hope you hear from Jane today.

MG, I had to look up Sheetz. I had never heard of the chain, and not something you'd want on a busy corner.

I bookmarked your link as we rarely see stars or other sky events here in the city, as in the summer it's practically 24/7 daylight, and in the winter, it's normally clouded over. We do have the Northern Lights all the time and while it's fascinating if you never see it, after a while it's simply there. Most astronomical events are usually too far south or on an eastern trajectory.

Here's hoping all have a good day.

Amy

Just got off the phone from talking with Jane, her daughter is up visiting her. I took a walk outside with the phone and the crows saw me and started calling/cawing for more food. Jane heard the commotion.  :2funny:

Rick, I agree with you on having the paper bill in hand. I have had discussions with both phone and electic companys wanting us to pay from an online bill.......that is not happening!
