Good morning...

Starting out at 52° this morning. The past few days have been a tad busy and today is a day of rest!! Made the spaghetti sauce and while canning it the power went out twice! Not enough to stop the canner thankfully.  Yesterday I took hubby to Timmies and I was going to clean up a tree and branches that the wind had taken down only to find our neighbour had beat me to it!! We are so blessed with good neighbours! I spent the day cleaning out more trugs andtilling the side little garden. The electric tiller works like a charm.

Today other than meal preparing is going to be sewing. :)

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

I see I forgot to mark the switch again and just this morning realized it.

My appointment to look at my thumb went well. For the moment, I am putting off shots or surgery as the pain is not bad or present if I don't put too much pressure on it. It was a little disappointing to discover that there aren't really any exercises that can help. So, what it is is indeed trigger finger, and beyond that the x-ray found the several small nodules indicating arthritis is creeping in. If the trigger finger doesn't clear up on its own or gets worse, I can get up to two cortisone shots before thinking about surgery.

Tomorrow I see have a trip to the spinal institute nearby for a long overdue check on  my back situation. Of the three of us, I am the only one who has not had shots or surgery. That is somewhat surprising since I am the oldest. Again, not wanting any shots or surgery, but perhaps some physical therapy or guidelines on what exercises I can do to not worsen anything. Still haven't had my overdue DEXA screening which  is supposed to be paid for Medicare. I have never had to have a prescription to get the screening before, but this year, both my regular lab (Penn State) is insisting I get one as is UPMC. I checked with my insurance company and they said a prescription isn't required by them or by Medicare and that it might be a new policy of Penn State and UPMC. My sister insists it is no big deal, and it isn't, really, but I get pretty irritated at all these new, unnecessary hoops these outfits are adding. So, now they have created another small pocket of resistance.

Good morning

We are off and running to the city for a Dr appointment . Temp is 35° at the moment and no rain in the forecast.

MG that must be sore! Does soaking in warm water and Epsom salts help?

Jane, where are you???

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Just a short visit before I must get ready for this morning's appointment.

I don't think so, Amy. The PA said there isn't much for it but to use my brace, take pain pills, or go for a shot if it gets too bothersome, or surgery if necessary.

Weatherman says temp is 45o. I hope that doesn't set the darn low tire pressure sensor off again. That happened just a few days ago. It happens every year when the temps drop in the fall. Its very early for this year. Hope I don't have a tire problem.

Everyone, have a good morning.

It feels like that here. after all the high temp's we had. But it was only down to 50 when I got up. Heat not on in the house so it feels a bit chilly. I guess that's why I have some flannel shirts.

Good morning everyone,
This last weekend the 98-100°F weather broke and began a cooling trend. We will be having rain and T-storms for the first part of the week. I, much relieved and better able to work when its cool, finished up the fence mending and returned to wood cutting. Yesterday I made the hill the first leg of my poacher/poo patrol loop. There's been this small fir, 4"diameter trunk, that broke in a wind storm several winters ago that needs cutting. Because of its entanglements, I didn't have the skill set at the time, so had only cut up the parts I could reach. I thought yesterday would be a perfect morning to clear it. Learned a new lesson. Yellow Jackets nest in forest litter. Innocent looking forest litter. I began limbing the tree while standing on the yellow jacket nest. Needless to say, I got multiple stings. There are 5, maybe 6. One location, the back of my thigh, I can't see. It feels like more than one. One on my neck which is giving me less problems than the double one at the top of my left thigh. Its bright red (top half of my thigh), swollen and hard. One just above my left knee. That left pant leg had a hole in it. They got right in. I got the last one on the way back to camp in an unmentionable place. When I dropped my pants in the RV, 2 yellow jackets flew out. Boy were they mad! I took homeopathics and tried hypericum and arnica salves for pain relief. I've never had more than one sting at a time before. I was surprised to feel nauseous and headachy. Anybody whose had more than one sting at a time know if thats typical?

Ron arrived Saturday evening, so he only worked from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Sunday, before going home. He got a slab poured for the step. When it set up enough he created the step with cinder blocks that he'll plaster next week. Then he framed the two side walls and strung a few of the joists to keep them true during this next stormy week.

Since I was out of commission for hard labor, I worked on odds and ends. I had broken the handle of my broom several weeks ago: sweeping too vigorously. I find that hard to believe, and appalling that a broom could be so flimsy. Anyway the repair I effected was not satisfactory. It kept coming loose. I'd shoved a stick, the diameter of the inside, inside the hollow handle and taped the sections together with strong duct tape. Even though it was all I could do to get the sections jammed back together on the "dowel", it still kept working itself loose. So I redid it and drove a roofing nail (because thats what I had available) in each side of the break. Then I taped over that. Hopefully it will hold. I worked more on removing rust and treating my wood cookstove. While I was doing that I opened all the windows and the refrigerator door, and aired out the new fridge. Its not plugged in yet. No power to the Tiny House. I thought I'd cleaned it enough before, but the new plastic must be outgassing. I need to put some baking soda in there today. I worked on some stained laundry.

MG, glad you are resisting the shots and surgery. Here is what I've learned about many types of nosodites, RA, gout and stones (gall blader, kidney stones, etc): uric acid. So you might want to consider a low purine diet. Be sure to avoid anything with Canola oil, or vegetable oil because it has
Canola in it (prepared food). Typically just avoiding those clears up most people's gout and RA. Canola oil is a hybrid form of Rape Seed oil with lower uric acid. Not none, but lower. The original rape seed oil was used to lubricate war ships. After the war they tried marketing it as a food oil. Lots of oeople died from "gout." Canola is used in everything now. My husband got gout decades ago. My son got terrible gout about 10 years ago, I ended up with severe gout and RA this last spring due to roadside spraying. The sticker they used was mostly "seed oil." I'm betting Rape Seed oil based on my response to it. Anyway, if you are open to it, the homeopathic remedy Ruta Graviolens removes urid acid. Try a 200c potency. I used it, Bryonia and Arnica in addition to arnica salve. I also cleared my diet of high purine foods (morel mushrooms). I had to stick with it for 3 months, it was so severe. I can close my hands again compketely and am without pain or inflamnation most of the time. Since I know some farmers that munched a handful of Canola seeds while in their field one day and all three ended up in the ER that night black over their entire bodies with severe, life threatening gout, I know for a fact, Canola is not food! And it causes health problems of high uric acid. Anyway, thats the most valuable info I have for anyone suffering with joint pain, inflammation, gout, RA, or stones in the body anywhere.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning, nothing new here, and it's 48 and still raining. Evidently, we have an atmospheric river stalled directly over us. Meet and greets, morning routines, feeding everyone and making coffee is done.

I received my packages yesterday, which was a surprise because it was my first Sunday delivery. It's interesting that ordering is faster and sometimes cheaper than going out to get items yourself.

I do have some business calls to make, and the look outside is dismal, I'm hoping not to have to go somewhere if I can't handle it over the phone.

Otherwise, I'm hoping everyone is having a good day.

Amy

Good morning..

Might have had frost last night, I did cover up some of the garden before going to bed. . Starting with a 33° this morning with hopes of some warmth today.

On the go again, this time for an oil change then home to do those delightful DDs.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning, 45 presently, heading to the early sixties. Temperatures are expected to drop tomorrow, but there's mist in the valley over the waters and the leaves are almost in full color.

Morning routines and meet and greets are in progress, coffee needs to be made, and I've got an unexpected errand to run sometime this morning. I ordered some items that will be here tomorrow, and that's are the news or trivia I have for today.

RAMMEL

Good morning anyone. No one here since yesterday around noon time.
Looks like it's going to be a wet one here. Sure looks like Fall is moving in.

Light Rain here.

Just got my grocery order put away. After a very late breakfast, I have some dishes to hand wash and some books to reshelve. Then, when I go for my mail, later, I have some trash to take to the bins. Other than that, nothing specific to do.

I still need to complete my research and pick a PT.The outfit my Orthopedic Dr. gave me info on is not part of my insurance network. There are a lot of listings that seem more oriented to sports injuries, or, seem for the younger set. Many of them do not have a web presence, so I can't tell what kind of facility or with what types of problems they think they have experience.

Hello Everyfriend!  I lost my way in again and when Cathy was here this aftenoon, she fixed me up.  This is the first chance I've had to sit down and write.  And it's also my last!  I have to be up and about tomorrow morning to meet Cooper a bit before 6 a.m.  So I'll be off to bed soon!

I read everything you all wrote and you're all busy little beavers!  Keep on keeping on!  That's how we keep our lives going forward!  My daughter and SIL picked me up today and took me to the local Farmers Market.  It's there every Wednesday but I can only go when someone will pick me up.  I got some stuff from a local farmer to have for upcoming meals and I'm looking forward to that!

Now I'm going to say good night to all of you and close up things around here and get some stuff ready for tomorrow.  I have a plumber coming
"around 8" tomorrow morning.  That's what he said so I'll have to be watching for him.  And I'll have to be dressed and ready to meet him.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a great day tomorrow.  Don't forget to stop by and tell us what you're up to.  We're the curious type!

Good morning to you too, Jane.

It is cloudy now, but the clouds should be gone this afternoon. Temp is 56o at the moment.

I am just getting started on the day after feeding the cats and sitting with Oscar on my lap for an hour or so.

Good morning from me, too.  Cloudy right now but supposed to clear and be warmer later. I love autumn,,,,the leaves are showing some color.  A quiet day of no appointments so maybe David can help me out to sit on the deck for awhile and enjoy the sounds of the birds and feel the sun.  That would be nice.

Take care,  All.

Rick, you are so lucky the have cardinals around. Must admit I did get a chuckle watching the crows take their bread over to the neighbours  tomato patch.... do you think they are making a 🍅  sandwich?

Phyllis, I too love the Fall, sights sounds and smells

OK, need to get busy.

Good morning everyone,
Glad to see you all here. Its 55°F, partly cloudy. It rained in the night and there was mist on the meadows. I slept in until a 1/4 til 7:00. Today will "more of the same" for me: wood cutting, continuing my desperate search for an MD willing to take me as a patient and who knows enough to help me. I've sent my records to several on request only to have them tell me they don't have the skills to help someone like me. Its demoralizing, as the spray draws nigh.  I have not heard back from the lawyer I consulted with as to wether he'll take my case or not. Very stressed.

Phyllis, glad to hear you may get out for sun and fresh air👍

Amy and Rick, I dreamed about picking garden produce last night. I could even smell that green pepper in my dream😋

I best get going. Have a wonderful day.

Amy

Phyllis forgot to add, we are having your bean soup. I put a IP on yesterday and threw a couple of handfulls of lima beans in too! Tasty thank you!!

Good morning, 51 on a drizzly, cooler day, with a dense fog advisory. I think it may be 2026 before we see 60 again. All morning routines finished, coffee's made and Farrah fed.

My Amazon order came in yesterday which included, a 2026 planner which I will fill in the necessary bits after I return from a couple of needed errands. The other bits and pieces were simply some spices and bath items.

It's nice to see both Jane and Phyllis posting today.  And Rick and Amy, your running joke was today's breakfast. Luckily, no crows around here, the ravens are enough, they'll rob you blind as it is. Winter ice fishermen can have their line and catch snatched and find their pickup back ravaged on their return.

Fall is definitely on it's last dregs here, as they're talking about snow flurries possible on the second week of October. The weather people are saying be ready for a long cold arctic winter and the farmer's almanac is saying warm and drier for the arctic. I think I'll go with NOAA's prediction.

We don't have the red cardinal in Alaska, we do have a Western Tanager, a type of cardinal. I looked up a description, "Western Tanagers have a flaming orange-red head, yellow body, and black wings. Females have only red faces, and their bodies are yellow-green."

Right now the only birds remaining, are some wrens, chickadees, sparrows, ptarmigans, gyrfalcons, and various owls. In the fall, the smaller birds will join into large multi species flocks for protection and in the spring will separate back into smaller same species flocks. The ravens have returned from the mountains, where they spend the summer in cooler weather. Several birds change color from season to season.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!  Good Evening and Good Night!

I was a bit busy today and I didn't make it in here so this is for the whole day!  I didn't have Cooper today and Frankie didn't stop by.  Cathy came by on her way to WM and she picked up a couple things for me.  I don't have a yen to go shopping any more.  I still like to go to the Farmers Market on Wednesdays but that's different.

I see you've all been busy as can be!  You do what you do and then it's done!  I kind of wish we lived a bit nearer to one another so we could wave or stop in a say "Hi"!

Tomorrow will be a busy day.  Cooper will be here a bit before 6 and he'll need his breakfast and a walk.  Then the plumber is coming around 8 to see if he can fix my seat in the bathroom!  Then I have to start getting ready for the Saturday Cleaning ladies!  Lots to think of tomorrow.  And I put my trash out tonight so that can will have to be brought back in after they do their thing!  Busy day tomorrow.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a great day tomorrow.  Don't forget to stop by and share it with us.  We love to hear from you!  I did love reading the messages today.  I laughed at some of them~  Good night Everyfriend!

Better shake a leg and get at it.

Good Morning Everyfriend!

The plumber just left after making my seat in the bathroom work again.  I asked him if he would be giving me a bill and he said it would come in the mail and that he has no idea what the cost is.  He did a good job.

I have a dozen things that need doing today so I'll be busy and working at it most of the day.  I'll only take time for Cooper's walks and loving hime up and a short visit with Granddaughter Frankie when she picks him up!

I wish you all a good day!  Make it your own in every way and don't forget to share a piece of it with us.  We miss you when you don't stop by!  And we wonder what youre up to!  Bye bye now!

Good morning, 43, another day of steady rain, I'm glad I was able to get those few errands done yesterday, so today will be a day of rest. Morning routines, meet and greets, feeding everyone and making coffee's finished so here I am.

Amy, I used to spend a lot of time at the bird sanctuary and really enjoyed watching the birds. They had two fenced open field areas for public viewing and a few backwards areas for public access, but a lot of that backwoods trail viewing ended when people insisted on unleashing their dogs. They ended up banning dogs and some people before finally restricting everyone to the public viewing fields without an escort. Some people feel they can do what ever they want and end up ruining it for many.

Nice to hear about Cooper, and we missed your posts, Jane. So nice to see you backing to posting.
