So nice to see Sacha and others posting. I posted this in Norm's and decided to repost here.

It's coming for you...

Speaking of snow, I do live just inside the Arctic; weather report from Thursday, the 25th, FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The first widespread snow event of the season blanketed parts of the Final Frontier this week, signaling that winter is fast approaching.

Snowfall was reported along the Eastern Alaska Range, including Isabel Pass, where upwards of 7 inches of snow fell.

The frozen precipitation was significant enough that National Weather Service meteorologists issued a Winter Weather Advisory and said travel could be difficult along roadways such as the Richardson Highway.

Forecasters said snow levels dipped to around 1,200 feet - the lowest so far this season - but not low enough to impact more populated areas around Fairbanks, the state's second-biggest city, which sits at an elevation of about 400 feet.

This was not the first time snow has been reported during the second half of the year, but it is widely considered the most impactful so far.

Frozen precipitation has occurred off and on along the Brooks Range since mid-August, but because of the terrain, there has often been little disruption.

The recent snowfall even led to a dusting at lower elevations of Denali National Park, one of the largest NPS sites in the country.

Then, on Sunday, the 28th forecast,  38°Hi

Intermittent snow and flurries in the morning; otherwise, remaining cloudy and cold

In a usual time, we receive our first snow around the last two weeks of October.

However due to a serious lack of humidty, a full day of snow would be seen as a dusting of snow by others.

Crows are hollering,  better go feed them.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Can you spray parts with Non-Stick Spray?

I agree with Rick. If you can't coat your snow blower blades with ceramic than use a ceramic nonstick spray to coat them as needed

phyllis

can i spray my sticky parts so they work better,  too?  :2funny:

Rick, I will try that, thank you. When the snow is like that even the neighbour has a problem with his plow truck. Only way for him to do it is just take small swaths of snow. When I can't  handle that snow the neighbour , bless his heart will plow our driveway.
Patricia, guess I want the colder weather that gives us fine easy snow to remove.

Phyllis, I think soaking in a warm bathtub filled with a  non stick solution might help.

Phyllis, if you figure out how to do that, be sure to come back here and fill us in on how to do it too. You'll hear us cheering from where ever you might be.

When there must be snow I prefer the medium (wet) snow. Powder doesn't like to stay on the shovel, and blows all over. Wet snow is just plain HEAVY.

Good morning.

Foggy out!  Temp is 51° at the moment and no rain in sight.

A day of welcomed rest here! Just may scare my sewing machine and get something started.

Patricia, is the snow there light as you don'tseem to get the humidity to make it wet?

Rick , snowblower handles everything but the  heavy wet snow.. hope we both get snow that is easy to remove.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Yes, very light. The only time it can be heavier is when there is more, and it packs down and freezes. Speaking of that, we had snow, a light dusting, beginning overnight.

The leaves are still on the trees! Normally we have our first snow during the last two weeks of October! 🥶

Just check in before shutting down the computer for the night.

This evening I am thinking of MaryPage and PatH2 and wondering if anyone knows how they are doing? I do miss them. Does anyone know if they have gotten everything moved to her their home? I forget, was it Flagstaff or Phoenix? Thinking of OLM, isn't that spraying due soon or has it already. I know it was getting close. Hope you are okay, OLM.

 :hugs: Everybody!

Sasha

Happy quiet Sunday evening. MarilynE, do you get an alert when you get a Dm? If not, here's an alert.

I, too, have been thinking of MaryPage. And several others, no longer with us. So glad to have y'all here now.

Blessings also on the iPad and Libby. Back to The Pretender.

Good evening everyone,
Its been a tough month for me. I got notice from the last lawyer at the last minute that he wouldn't be taking my case because of "Oregon's Right to Farm and Forest Act." Which is uninformed on his part. It said right on the Depart of Ag's website (pesticide ) practices are not protected if they harm people, neighbor's crops livestock, etc. But you can't make anyone take your case. I pivoted to trying everything else I could think of. No good. I made sure I stocked up on every herbal, homeopathic and supplemental remedy that's had efficacy. The timber company was due to spray the following week. I postponed my doctor visit, as he couldn't get here in time, and Ron and I decided on the plan with the best chance of surviving, with the least amount of damage: I precipitously moved everything in the RV into the unfinished Tiny House. Normally it take me 2 weeks to move into or out of the RV. I feverishly managed it in 2 very long days. Ron heroically jury-rigged power, sewer (Rhino's), and water (50 gal. Garbage can with a lid, and a battery powered pump). He bought and plumbed a laundry-tub for a sink, built a platform and mounted the RV style toilet, wired in lights and switches and ran 30 amp wire from the RV pedestal, in the same 2 days. The dogs and I are incarcerated, only going out briefly for them to do their business morning and evening. Then we decontaminate when we come back in. Its been a pretty sick, debilitated time, but it's been far better than I hoped for. The Tiny House is sealed far and away better than the RV, and its insulated (plus vapor barrier). We're camping.

We're through the initial exposure, I think. I don't know if we've seen the worst of it yet. It continues to volatize for 5 weeks or more depending on the chemicals. We have 4 weeks to go. We are expecting a week of rain, starting tomorrow. That may wash it down into the watershed -  :buck2:

At least Rosie has regained control of her bladder and bowels, and is keeping her food down again. The pesticide gave Kato some monsterous headaches, which caused a return of periods of aggression. He's doing better, though he's tired of staying inside. There is not one system in my body that is not smitten. I'm thankful that I'm currently clawing my way back. We just have to stay in as much as possible and not add to the damage.

Enjoyed reading your posts. Hoping to respond to them tomorrow.

Hello Phyllis, good to see you - a familiar face from old Senior Net. It brings back good memories.
Health and serenity to you!

Good morning, Phyllis, and Bubble, hope you both are having, as Lloyd used to say, a day just as you like it.

JaneS

Well, here I am, trying one more time to visit my friends.  Alls well in my home.  Tomorrow, Frankie is coming and were doing supper together and she's going to spend the night.  I sure hope everyhing works out the way we're planning!

Today was a busy day.  Cooper was here and we did two walks and time in the yard.  He had his breakfast here and took some good naps.  I did some laundry, hung out on the computer, cleaned up the kitchen, emptied waste baskets, made some necessary phone calls, and oh my, that took some time!  And there was some other stuff but my mind is not working well.

Now I'm just about ready to hit the haystack.  Cooper will be here about 5:45 so his mommy can get to work by 6!  And I always try to be up and dressed and have my breakfast before he gets here.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a great day tomorrow.  I'm going to lunch with one of my former classmates, my daughter Cathy and my friend's daughter who was Cathy's classmate!  I haven't seen her in ages and I'm sure I'll enjoy it!  Hope your day is as great as mine!
