Hail and rain finally relented and we are seeing some sunshine.  That certainly puts me in a better mood .

Peter, I am glad you are better. I too am a manual wheelchair driver now for the last six or seven years. I went from walking with a cane to two Canadian crutches, wc for only long distances and now full time because walking became impossible. I certainly enjoy shopping much more than before since it requires less effort. So it is rolling with a smile. I think you will appreciate it once you get used to it.
Do you have any hobby? Photography? you should go visit our Photo Now and then discussion.

It is a cloudy, foggy, drizzly, bleak morning here on the  Mid-east coast.  Supposed to be a rainy day all day today.  We really need the rain and it sure is better than that "white stuff".  Although they are predicting some of that by the end of the week.  Winter will still be around for a good many weeks yet. 

Nothing exciting in my little piece of the world.  Just need to do a few little chores today and read and probably nap a little bit.  A good day to stay inside and do "almost" nothing.

Roley, hope you will continue to do well. Just hang in there.

Bubble, I know you are getting anxious to have your soul mate with you soon again.  I am sure you have been doing a lot of planning.  You both always seem to find interesting places to go to. 

Larry, do hope you are feeling better today.    That coughing can really wear you down.   

Amy,  sure hope the snow doesn't materialize today.  I am sure you are getting tired of all your dates with the snow-blower. 

Jane, like Amy,  do hope that your computer problems won't be long-lasting.  I guess all your company will be gone today and you can get some rest.  All the stress you have been through the past few days can really take a toll on you.  Hope you can get some 'zzzzzz's " sometime during the day.

You are right Joy, Don will arrive end of February, in time to enjoy the Purim carnaval with his Santa costume.   He had so much fun last year (all those lovely ladies wanting a photo  with him  ) so that he does not want to miss it.

My son too will arrive for a fortnight visit about a week later so that he too will participate in the outings.

I just hope the weather will cooperate.

I am sure Don will share lots of photos here.

CALLIE  I do wake up in the morning but never know what time that will be anymore but no matter the time I put off crawling out of bed as long as possible. I have not had toast and PB in a long time,    maybe I should have that  later, sounds good.

GLORIA de  seems like every time I have an appointment there is bad weather.

SHIRLEY  I would love to look out and see a robin here. My son has some in his orchard all winter. Wonder what they find to eat with every thing frozen. You got a good shot of that one.

JUNE  would love sending you the rain we are getting today. You and I have mentioned sardines before, you can have all of mine.

JANE  computers will drive me crazy yet. I have been using Google but today I had to log in and it would not take my password. Had to go to IE and use that to get here. Every day a different problem.

ROLEY/PETER  there is a lady here who had 2 strokes and has to use a wheel chair and it amazing to see her get around with it.

JOY  we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow.

  Hi Everyone.  We have had a nice calm rain for several hours and I think it is to continue throughout the day.  I was able to get three or four hours of sleep last night and then the coughing took over and I sat up the rest of the night in my easy chair.  I did go back to the Prompt Care yesterday afternoon and my lungs are still clear.  I was given a prescription for a  five day antibiotic pack, told to use the nose spray, and use Muscenex DM.  I am pretty wiped out today so expect to spend a lot of time resting and hopefully getting some sleep.  I hope to see some effect from the medicine by the end of the day.  So I will be limiting my comments again today as don't feel like sitting here in my office all morning. 

Yes Gloria, the Canadian crutches are those  holding the arms instead of being under the armpits.  They are more comfy I think and less cumbersome.

I do believe my heart is beating a little bit faster, but I'm trying to keep focused. My passport and tickets are still where they were yesterday--and the day before that and so on. I've cancelled mail and newspaper delivery, and the pharmacy is in the process of preparing 3 month's supply of meds.  So other than packing my clothes I am ready to go.
I have an extra-long wait at the Toronto airport, so I purchased admittance to the business class lounge which I hope will accord an extra degree of comfort while I wait, although I won't be able to escape the extortionist prices they charge for food.

Can you take a sandwich or buns with you along with water/juice to have while you wait or is this considered a no no with the airlines?

Sandy, Feb. and March can be bad, but at lest we are gaining on Spring. Dec. and Jan, you know we have a long way to go, so I am glad they are past. Just be careful of black ice, that was bad here yesterday. Lot of accidents.

Larry, thinking about you, and hope you are feeling better soon. When I was in the hospital they gave me Ruberssin and it did not help, still  have a dry cough once in a while, not as bad.  Doctor called it a heart
cough.

Shirley, we use to have robbins at the golf course, all winter.

Gloria With all the talk about peanut butter,  I think that is what I will have for lunch.  I found beach plum jelly at the christmas Tree Shop. No like the real thing.  The Church sale this year had beach plum jelly, and it sold for $10. a jar. Not many bushes left on LI

There was strong evidence that a Pepe Le Peu had recently been nearby when I went out to get the paper.  I checked before I stepped very far out on the driveway to be sure there wasn't a lurker in the flower bed.

Amy, I'll be with my quilting dil tomorrow and will see what she knows about quilt appraising. If she doesn't - her mother will.

Gloria,  when I told the diabetic dietician I was having mid-morning "lows" she said I needed protein with breakfast and suggested peanut butter on toast.  That was 14 years ago and I've had a piece almost every morning since.

Don,  Excitement is building for your trip to Israel.  I think the extra payment for the lounge will be well worth your while.

Janie,  you deserve a "do nothing" day - although it shouldn't be one without your computer.   

Jenny,  I just saw a picture of The 5 Mrs. Hardins on Facebook.  What lovely "daughters by choice" you have.

The OTL Church Ladies were recipients of a "Pay It Forward" this morning.  When we asked for our checks, we were told that they had all been taken care of and the waitress would not tell us who had done the good deed.  We hadn't seen anyone we knew in the small restaurant where we are regulars.

Off to finish reading the paper and see if I can find some mischief to get into.

Amy I like the idea of taking lunch with me to the terminal. I remember last year when I paid $13.50 for a ham sandwich.

i still can't communicate via my desktop. However I did manage to get on line and pay the bills I needed to pay before giving my unit up tomorrow. I don't know how long I'll be without it. But I do know Kiran will be unhappy tomorrow.

I made 2 double batches of Amy's hot mustard this afternoon all for myself so I'm ready for whatever. My Texans are probably in the airport in Baltimore on their way home. I think their plane leaves around 7. Seems pretty quiet around here right now. Hope you are all enjoying your day.

Callie, I am with you, I am so thankful Larry checked up on his cold. 
I am really careful when I let the dogs out at night if a perfume puddy tat is around. So far they are still in hibernation here.

Don, anything that can be put in a baggie...sandwich, cheese and crackers, grapes, banana, orange slices. and a tetra pack of juice or bottled water. Then you don't have to carry around  containers.

Today was peaceful..I did play outside for a bit with the dogs but there is way too  much ice to throw the ball for them.I shall be happy when all the ice is gone..

I had planned to go down for supper tonight, but when the  peanut butter on toast was mentioned, i have changed my mind...that will be my supper at home with some canned mixed fruit, sliced banana added and whipped cream. I had a big lunch downstairs after Church. I'll be getting fat if I keep on eating so much.

We had a warmer day today 88 degrees and a strong wind. I wish it would RAIN !!

Janie, I'm sure it feels good to have your home to yourself again. You have been through a trying time and now the darn computer is acting up. I hope it all heals quickly and you are back to normal again.

Larry, my "cold" hung on for the whole month of Dec. It sure took the starch out of me, still not normal. I ended up needing a nebulizer..I use it three times a day and it does help. It is a machine that many asthmatics have to live with, and it does help.

Don, I would definitely take a snack bag of food with me. Even if I had to hide it in my pockets. Salted nuts give one energy and some hard candies...I like lemon drops. I am so thrilled you are still young enough and well enough to have this time with your Bubble. you two are so inspiring to us. God be with you.

I'm going to put on my flannel nighty and just enjoy a comfortable supper at home. I felt pretty weak this morning but getting down for Church helped a lot. Now it is quiet time. June

Thought I might be able to go back to sleep at 4 am but that is a no go. Golden girl tried to get on the bed but slipped so I got up and helped her and tried to go back to sleep but couldn't. I did get to see the beautiful moon!!

Going to be a long day. We are heading to the city to return a form for an up and coming test for hubby. Will renew our membership at Costco and pick up a few things there, hubby likes the Baby Bell cheese and their price is way better than the grocery stores here.

Jane, hope they don't keep your computer on you. I see your temp is warmer than here ours is +4 at the moment.

Better go check on the fire and feed the pups..

Our current temp here is 18º and shooting for 32º for high today and 42º tomorrow. I  welcome our temp to yours. wrap warm . good morning from my iPad.  We're waiting out the doggies pills. Today will be a busy day. I have to call the computer shop and maybe drop off my computer. And I have to call my drug insurance plan. We have a difference of opinion as to whether I paid and I need to straighten that out.

Then I have a return appointment with the orthopedic doctor who fixed my finger and lunch with friends from the office where I used to work.   This is alsO the day that I pick up TLH after school. Like I sad. "Gonna be a busy day.

BUBBLE  I have seen those crutches a few times and at one time thought they would be good for me and not take as much room as the rollator when I have to go anywhere.

DON  I have my fingers crossed for you and your trip and the price of the business lounge doesn't make a big dent in your money.

GLORIA de  I have not seen beach plum jelly in years. I know when we used to go camping at the Cape the bushes were all over the place. Like around here there used to be blueberry bushes all over but now you cannot see the wild ones anymore.

CALLIE  I used to love toast with PB and mashed banana. Come to think about it cannot remember the last time I did that. Got that from my sister that lived in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Always is great to hear about a “Pay it Forward” deed. You are the first I know it happened to.

DON  you could have bought a pound of ham and the fixings for sandwiches for that price.

JANE  hope you are not without your computer as long as I was. The computers down stairs have only one that works and only for games. They worked when I first moved here but the manager will not pay to have them worked on.

AMY  yesterday I woke thinking it was Monday. I wondered why the programs I watch in the mornings were not on and then why my CNA was so late. I finally looked at the date/time on the PC and saw it was Sunday.

JUNE  with the security at airports these days one has to be careful what they board with.

LLOYD  with the wind we have been having 7/10 mph would be like a breeze.

AMY  my daughter and SIL were Costco members for  years but there is not one near  them in Az. So they finally dropped it and miss it.

JANE  being so busy all the time is what is keeping you moving.

Whether we wear a $300 or $30 watch - - - they both tell the same time.

Whether we carry a $300 or $30 wallet/handbag - - - the amount of money inside is the same.

Whether we drink a bottle of $300 or $30 or $3 wine - - - the hangover is the same.

Whether the house we live in is 300 or 3,000 or 30,000 sq. ft. - - - the loneliness is the same.

And we realize our true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world.

Whether we fly first or economy class, if the plane goes down - - - we go down with it.

Whether we fly first or economy class, if the plane reaches its destination - - - everyone arrives at the same time.

Therefore . . . we should realize that when we have mates, buddies and old friends, brothers and sisters, with whom we can chat, laugh, talk, sing, talk about north-south-east-west or heaven and earth -- that is true happiness!

  Hi Everyone.  It rained though out the day yesterday and is still overcast this morning but a very low chance of more rain this afternoon.  Yesterday was completely a day of rest for me and although no peppy this morning I had a great night of sleep in my own bed.  I am definitely better, although am hesitant to be too optimistic as have thought this a couple of times before only to have a relapse.  Nothing on the schedule today and expect to spend another day at home getting some extra rest. 

Don, it sounds like you have things well under control for your trip and a good idea to have access to a more comfortable place to wait in Toronto. 

Callie, what a nice surprise you had at the restaurant.  I bet that brighten your day and then to have a day without wind in Oklahoma had to make it a memorable time. 

June, it sounds like you had an enjoyable day yesterday and glad you were able to make it to Church. 

Amy, you sure got off to an early start today.  Hope you trip to the city goes well.  I need to get to Costco also but it is going to have to wait another day or two. Pat is putting in on online order at Walmart grocery.  However there are several items we get a Costco that we can't get at Walmart.  Do you ever get the package of bacon bits.  They are very handy and good. 

Lloyd, it sounds like a good day to stay close to the coach.  Your warmer weather didn't last very long. 

Gloria, I like what you shared today as it is people and not things that really make us happy.  Do many people in your building have their own computers?

I am sitting here looking at the clock  (10:50) AM
and realize that my whole sleep pattern has reversed it
self from what it was for years.     I use to go to bed
at 9 PM and wake sometime early morning between
4 and 6 AM  .... I was a quick starter... 

Now I am still up at Midnight and sleeping
in until 9 to 10 AM...  now I am a slow starter... 

Not sure why the change,  but it sure feels
right ...   so I have no intention to go go
back to the way things use to be.  ... 

Fe is feeling better and so far,  all it right
in my little corner of the world.

Don:  Clear plastic zip lock bags are good for your pen, keys and so forth too.  You know the drill.  Have a wonderful visit.

Jane:  How old is your little TLH?  You did mention quitting your job - anytime in the future?

Callie:  A very nice gesture - two cowboys in Lusk, Wyoming paid for our breakfast one morning.  Pay it forward - we really like the idea and it is just fun to imagine how it helps ones day. 

I woke up fine, then after breakfast and readings of the day, I felt I was relapsing to a chest cold again. Went down and had my vitals taken, and after the B.P. reading, Eric had one of the nurses come out and talk to me. No one told me what the B.P. reading was and I forgot to ask. Nurse is suspicious of the extra dose of Albuteral I'm taking so we are cutting it back to  two times a day for three days to see if that makes a difference. I can go down for lunch so I guess I am not contagious.

We are having a high of 90 degrees today..a real surprise.. but so. Ca. is having strong winds, probably blowing in from the desert.

I don't have anything scheduled till Choir practice on Thurs. so I'll just do what I like.....read and nap.

Larry, I sure hope you are feeling better. Sleep as much as you can and give the body  a chance to heal.

Amy, I am "feeling" for Golden Girl. When my dogs got into their teens they always seemed embarrassed when they lost control of doing things that were so natural before. Like not being able to jump into their favorite chair.

Getting close to lunch time, so I will close with prayers for all those that have special needs, and quick healing for those that need it. I love you all. June
