Denver

A good Thursday morning HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

JOAN, I really enjoyed your goodies today and thank you very much.  I, too, am sorry to read about the mishap with your car.  I know it had to be upsetting to you and you sure do not deserve to have something like this happen.  Best of luck to you as you head off to,the urologist.

JACKIE, happy to,read the workers arrived and got started on the project.  I feel so badly that you are having to deal with so many issues that should have been discovered on your home inspection.  When you head over on "your broom", please do not forget to stop by my house for a visit and enjoy a cuppa with me.

Congrats, CAROL, on getting your new to you, iPad.  I know you will really enjoy it.  We are looking forward to our new Lone Tree Library that will be opening soon.

GLORIA, I had to chuckle at you having to get your warm robe on!  The crazy weather.  Sorry your computer is freezing on you!  Good grief...what is it's problem?

LARRY, sorry you were not feeling the best yesterday.....having to pay that car repair bill sure didn't help!  Take care and hope you are doing much better today.

My Chicago Grand Boys just called me...they are so excited they just viewed a Bald Eagle on their bike ride with their dad.... The pictures have arrived from them and now I have seen it too.

AMY, what a bargain you and your DIL got yesterday on the material... that is wonderful.

PHYLLIS, I hope your "hunting /gathering hat helps you get everything you need at the store today!

JANE, every time I got to WM I look for you to check out with!  Hope you had lot's of happy people in your line today!

Bob is meeting for lunch today with old work cronies.  They are putting together a history book about the bell systems.  I am excited for him to spend time with them.

I must get going...enjoy your day!

Jenny--Isn't it wonderful that you can see photos of your far away grands so quickly with this modern technology?  I did pretty good at the urologist.  He's deciding what to do about the kidney stones.  How nice that Bob gets out with his pals to put together a history book about Bell.

Good afternoon, on another cool day, sunny and very windy.

JeanneLee, thanks you so much for your help. Realy appreciate, what you did for all of us.

Gloria, I got my long sleve night gown out last night, I am not complaining, as I like this kind of weather.

Joan, I am pleased to see you did well at the urologist. To morrow I go to the cardiologist.

Amy, When I first joined this Homemakers, we made baby quilts for aides babies. I also made 8 quilows one year for all family members, for Christmas.  I was so cool last night, I put the one I made my husband on the bed, as I only had a summer spread on it.

Hi to all my other friends. Still missing Sun and Kelly  :missyou:

Home again, home again jiggety jig!  Nothing but nice, smiling, happy people through my lines today.

I've had lunch, gave the doggies a snack and read my way to this point.

Larry, my kids gave me an 80th birthday party a while back and when it was time for the cake to be presented, I heard a small gasp from Kyle's sister and Kyle said, "Oh No! Dad's carrying the cake!"  Kyle is now 23 so the cake incident was 11 years ago and they are still harassing Craig about it.

I'm thinking I hear the sofa calling my name.  I just might answer when my neighbor gets finished mowing his grass.  I have some things to do on the computer and maybe I can finish about the same time he does.

Enjoy your day Everyfriend.

P.S.  Joanie, glad you had a good report.

Good Morning from the Interior! Nothing new here, another rainy day, Farrah is having fun doing normal cat things and I'm still creaking with my arthritis and the damp.

A friend got a triple whammy from her granddaughters yesterday. The first one who had married a twin just announced she was pregnant with twins. Her older sister, who was married to a twin, not related to the other grandson in law, and also expecting twins in about three months accused her sister jokingly about imitating her.

The newly expectant sister laughed and said, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." The third younger daughter, said, "Speaking of that." as she announced her engagement to yet another twin, not related to the first two!

And a good day to one and all!

Been kinda busy, bible study and men's breakfast first, then got home and wife told me my Urologist had called and wanted to talk to me about changing an appointment, played phone tag with him, the called one of our bible group who fell and broke a hip and is in rehab, bug man came by and had to wait for him to leave and a couple of other things I got done.

Anyhow I see everyone got along very well without my presence.  Today is a warm (okay hot to you yankees) and forecast of pop-up showers, we got one at my house yesterday afternoon.  Not very long but very hard rain.  One of those sneaky little showers, just came without warning.

Anyhow, everyone have a great day.

Here is Halkel, so where is Junedrabek?....

Jenny, you bet I will stop off at your place first....just look for the black cat.....I wont be far behind...

Well its 8.30pm I am dozing off at the computer already....one day when this head of mine pings forward, I will end up on the floor.....hasn't happened yet, but I am getting very close....

Our workmen left at 4.30 pm, been a very noisy day with hammering and drills, not forgetting Toby's barking...but they were straight on the job, worked hard and kept us informed of their progress, talking to us, explaining, and answering any questions we had...Today they have prepared the work in preparation for tomorrow....showed us a corner above the panel that was rotten where the water had soaked through, boy did it smell rotten too.....they have now fixed that with a new larger panel......they will be bringing along paint sample chart as we do have a choice of colours for when they do the paining....Oh and tomorrow they will move the backdoor decking step....there will be a big drop so myself and the dogs, doubt we will be able to get out in the garden, they dismantled the lounge step today, but allowing us the use of the kitchen step....these steps need removing so they can paint behind them....

They will be back 9am tomorrow morning...two really lovely guys...I kept them well supplied in teas and biscuits...

Angelface, don't they say..." good packages come in threes?...."

Linedancer--While I was in  the doctor's office this morning it started raining hard, and it hasn't stopped.  I am not complaining because we need it.  Tomorrow I have to go see my pulmonologist.

Janie--Sure is nice that you always seem to have smiling people in your line.  My couch called me about an hour ago, and I had a nice rest.  Thanks for your comment on my good report.

angelface--Wow, there are a lot of twins in that family you mention.  I thought we had a lot of twins.  I am a twin and my twin brother's daughter had twins.  My oldest daughter is married to a twin.   My  husband's twin had a daughter who has twins.

halkel--Your day has been filled with a variety of things.

Vanilla-Jackie--I was wondering where June was, too.  Hope she is OK.

Joan, June is usually here before I go to bed....

WHEW!  Talk about lots of twins, you folks take the cake.   The first twins in our family were brought in by my grandson's wife.  She is a twin and has twin relatives on both sides of her family.  The very best part of all this is that  I now have twin great grandsons who will be two in September.

Joan, there has been lots of twining in your family! We have had several sets of twins in my paternal side but none since my generation.

Hi Jeanne Lee, thanks for all that you do!

June Drabek

Good Afternoon dear hearts. I got too involved in other things this morning, so had to rush to get down to Musical Bingo at 10 a.m. then home to write a letter…much needed…than back down to have lunch.. now home to visit with all of you till 2:45 when we have Balance and Mobility exercises. Then of to cheer for the winners of todays Shuffleboard tournament.

Just had a call from my beloved DIL…she is coming by to see me. YAY !!!!!!!! Back later…….
As long as we are here, let's dance.

We also have some twins.  My great aunt had a twin who died at birth.  There were three sets of twins in my MIL's generation (she was one of 17 children).  I have twins and my oldest daughter is married to a twin.

Click for Lewisburg,Pennsylvania Forecast

JoanFL

Vanilla-Jackie--I know she is.

Jeanne Lee--Ray and I were told that usually twins skip a generation, but since both of us were twins there was a big probability we'd have twins.  We had 3 single births.

angelface--Before my twin and I were born, there were no twins on either my paternal or maternal grandparents lineage.

June--You have had a busy day.  When is your daughter-in-law coming to visit?

Janie--Your family is blessed with sets of twins, too.  OMG--17 children.  I can't wrap my head around raising that many.

My MIL's parents were immigrants from Italy and were Roman Catholic.  I can't imagine it either.  My husband's cousin was one of my first friends when I moved to Lewisburg in 5th grade.  We were talking about our families one day and Nancy asked me how many cousins I had.  I counted them up on both sides and told her I had 12.  She said that she had 55.  I didn't believe her until she proved to me that she also had 16 aunts and uncles...13 of whom had lived to adulthood.  2 uncles and one aunt died at birth.  They had one of those noisy, loving, generous Italian families that you see on TV.  My MIL and Nancy's mother were the only ones who had not married Italians.

The best laid plans are often not to be. Shortly after my last message here, my phone rang. It was my darling Daughter in Love, Dori. She was on her way to visit with me and hang my pictures. Which she did. all 24 of them, and I am more than delighted. She hangs them in groupings and it looks so well decorated. She is so talented. after she arrived, Grace the computer girl that works here at Rowntree came and she installed Adobe Flash for me. Do now I have my Utube, and card program back in use. Grace is such a darling, and really knows how to make computers do what they are supposed to do. In the midst of all this, my neighbor came over, fearful that I was hurt and pounding on the wall for help. She stayed and stayed, evidently enjoying the activities, and all my pictures.

So now I am at home with myself. Very thankful for all the help and hugs and caring I have received. I feel very blessed.

Just had a phone call. I will be picked up at our Clinic downstairs by a gentleman who will transport me to see my medical Dr. on Monday per instructions from the hospital where I visited for three days. All these things are done by Rowntree Gardens. Gary would ordinarily take me, but he and Dori are leaving Monday for Idaho. I am SO well cared for, and I am SO thankful.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

This has been one of those "stop & go" days, starting very early this morning.  Grass mowed & odds & ends taken care of when son came over.  SO miserable hot (Gloria, would you please whine for me, I'm exhausted)...

I've been in & read posts 3 times so far & had to stop before .... and the phone just rang so be back later.....

Molly

Interesting to read about so many families with Twins.  As far as I know, there have not been Twins in either the maternal or paternal sides of our family among the Brennan or Allen families.

Spent some time earlier today in my Eye Dr.'s office.  Got good results and I don't have to return for another 6 months!

My computer has really been acting up recently and today I was NOT able to access my checking account on line.  Guess tomorrow I'll visit my Bank in person and try NOT to be too Irish!

The recent posts have been interesting to read and I really appreciate being able to access them most of the time.

Mohamed is scheduled to arrive in NC on June 15 in the evening.  But since that is the heavy traffic time on the highway, he agreed to take a Taxi.  He'll have a short break from grading the hundreds of end-of-semester exams for this students and then return to Egypt again and more papers to grade.  Sure hope he can rest a bit here.

Thanks again to all Friends for continued prayers for our family - especially for Mohamed in Egypt and David at his new two-year post in Korea.

Gloria

I went out for my daily walk but did not go far. The sun felt good but the wind was so strong the flag was flying straight out. I had a warm jacket on but the wind cut to the bones. I made it to the end of the walk and turned around and came back. No walking the parking lot today. Tonight is supposed to be colder than last night.

JOAN  this PC freezes for a few minutes at least once every day. Occasionally it stays that way and I shut it down manually. Hope your appointment had good news.

JANE  nothing like a bowl of hot home made soup on a cold winter day. The freezer is too small in the fridge here I no longer make a big pot of it to freeze.  Always tastes better after it is frozen.

JEANNE  it was 48 here when I first looked this morning but I know it would be colder where you live. I have a heat setting on my AC and was tempted to turn I on to see if it really does heat up.

JENNY  this morning I was happy that fleece robe did not get put away for the season. Sure felt good to have it on and stop being cold.  The heat in the building is shut off till October. If I knew the problem with this darn machine I could get it fixed.  No matter how many times I have called them and they got into this thing they can find nothing. I really am thinking of getting the 10 downloaded. Might be their copy of 7 pro that is installed. I would be excited if I saw an eagle . I have seen them in a zoo but never in the wild. Wonderful the Bob and his “cronies” are doing that Bell book.

JOAN  I hope the doctors find an easy way to dissolve them and painless to you.

GLORIA de  I am not complaining either. Love this temperature it is the wind today that I did not like being outside in. It is the hot and humid summer weather I complain about.

PATRICIA  your friend's family will get bigger with 4 babies not just 2. No twins in my family.

HAL  we Yankees like our 4 seasons although our springs seem to be getting shorter every year.

JACKIE  better get a seat belt for your computer chair to hole you in so you don't fall when you do nod off sitting there. No falls allowed. You are the only one I know who gives the workers tea and a snack. I doubt anyone here does that. I know no one ever offers my son anything when he works at their homes, not even a glass of water.

JUNE  a surprise visit from your DIL is always a pleasure.  Wish there was a place here like your Rowntree, then if there was I would not be able to afford it. So nice to have things arranged for you. Gets wo tiresome always calling for a ride appointment and then never knowing if they will be here on time or are angry if you appointment takes even 5 minutes longer than you thought it would.

SHIRLEY  wish I could send some of these wonderful temperatures we are having right now. The wind today was what got to me. Believe my I do complain, whine about the summer heat and humidity. Never seems to be a breeze either then.

MOLLY  I thought Chaps was only going to be gone 1 year, 2 are horrible.

Sweat dreams everyone.

Gloria, the temperature in my unit this morning was 69 degrees and that is too cold so I turned on the heat.  It is not the first time I've turned on the heat recently.

I have Windows 7 Pro too and have all sorts of odd things happen - like losing the post or the cursor jumping somewhere with the letters I just typed.

I thought Molly's son was going to Korea for only one year too.

I told her blame my Mom, not me.

Gloria, I really had a wonderful day with all the activities taking place, and I am so happy with what Dori did with my pictures and what Grace did with my computer. I am really tired tonight but it is a good tired. I had supper at home so have a few odds and ends to wash up…and it will be an early bed time for me. Housekeeper arrives about 7:15 tomorrow morning so I want to be up and out of bed by then. Thanks for the Minions…I really enjoy them. Have a goodnight my friend and I will do the same.

Janie, Good night dear friend. Sleep well.

And if I don't sneak back in later…because I will be sleeping….I will bid you all a very, very good night. Peace,Love, Prayers and Hugs. June

Hal.....Oops, I stepped on you as you were leaving...there are no bells on the doors here in the S and F. Sleep well, and wake happy. June

Multiple sclerosis patients walking, working and skiing after groundbreaking therapy

Multiple sclerosis patients who were severely disabled are walking, working and even downhill skiing again following a breakthrough therapy which completely destroys, then rebuilds, the immune system.

Halkel, very interesting, think I may have read this before but, it does state for aggressive - relapsing....still think that rules out mine....primary progressive...One day there will be a breakthrough for the type I have, but again, not in my lifetime, and would they be bothered, as we tend to be in the older age bracket anyway....

Thank you Halkel for caring enough to show me this link...(( hug )) now if only some medic could sort out top of my right leg, I might be able to get a life... :'(  as when it builds up it affects my whole body, become more jittery and tremory.....affecting my nervous system.....then strangely subsides by the end of the day...

Gloria, as far as I know it is an English custom to supply cuppas to our indoor workmen, not sure if the younger generation would do it, but that's the way I grew up....have to say, R is the same....
